   I wish the menu would add some new items. Love the setting but some low background music would be great. It’s so quiet it’s awkward to talk with tables so close.

   We celebrated 20 years as a couple here last night. They had us seated in a wonderful corner booth. Shortly after we sat down, they delivered a complimentary Stella Artois and French 75 for each of us to mark our celebration. Jade was our server and she was wonderfully responsive, engaging, and friendly. My wife had the caviar and I enjoyed their corn and fennel chowder. For the main, she had the salmon and I had the rump steak. We shared a lemon tart to top things off. The decor and ambience is lovely. We'll recommend to others.

   Beautiful setting & grounds! The bartenders were engaging & personable. That is about where the charm of this restaurant ended. Host/Maitre ‘d was clearly distracted by a lady at a different table. So much so he sat another family down at the table he placed us 5mins before. The waiter was less than enthusiastic about his role & the menu. His menu tour included “what you can read” & then proceeded to read off items verbatim to us. Portions were small for the price & underwhelming in flavor or seasoning. Our empty cocktail glasses remained on the table under we left, yet another server tried to remove my wife’s steak plate while she was still eating. Not the best service but a beautiful hotel & pool setting.

   We enjoyed our NYE meal here. The restaurant was gorgeous, though our table was on route to kitchen which killed some of the ambiance. Seems as though they were having some trouble managing reservations and there was a lot of moving folks around (wish I’d asked). Service was superior and food was delightful. Bartender was great as well. Overall a great time.

   It’s a delight to dine here. The ambience still resonates its glamorous 1930’s roots and the food is always delicious. It’s a staple whenever we’re in Palm Springs.

    I'm writing mainly because of, at one level, a minor issue, but something that really irked us. We went here for lunch yesterday, and ordered shakshuka (plus salads to start) to share that came with one slice of grilled toast to dip in (for probably three to four cups of) the sauce. So I ordered another slice of toast. When the bill arrived, the charge was literally $5 for toast plus $3 for rye bread. So $8 for one slice of bread. Nothing in restaurants is inexpensive these days but still this struck me as exploitative. And given the overall cost of a vacation, or even the cost of the lunch, $8 is rounding error. I let the server know and she was very nice and agreed with me that the charge was ridiculous but that was what the chef insisted on! So a perfectly nice lunch became a bad experience. As we were getting ready to leave, another server came up to us and asked how our lunch experience was. I recounted the above. He too was embarrassed and immediately refunded $8. Make of this what you will but we won't be back.
