The Club Tavern and Grill was originally The Grantree Restaurant when three men from Conrad, Montana purchased it in 1985. The Felska’s and the Solvie’s came to Bozeman motivated by the prospect of building or buying a Conference Center.

They discovered that the Ramada Inn, (hotel, restaurant, and conference center) was in bankruptcy so they purchased the business. Once a dark 70’s style bar and casual dining restaurant, it also featured a fine dining area.

In 1999, The Grantree Restaurant was revised and remodeled to give it a more casual Montana feel.In 2008, the Partners decided to change the name and again do a remodel with more of an upscale sport’s bar style hence creating what today is The Club Tavern and Grill, Bozeman’s Upscale Sport’s Bar with 20 TVs, a Casino, Full Bar, and Sports packages.

This was one of the only places available in Bozeman for Christmas Day dining. The menu was limited, which I understand the reasoning. I selected the prime rib dinner which included some sort of potato (we will come back to this) and asparagus. The prime was fantastic. The portion of meat a was generous. The sides were a disappointment. I’m not sure if the potatoes were supposed to be some type mashed potato or a casserole. All I know is I had an ice cream scoop sized serving of very very dry potatoes. The asparagus was geriatric (old and yellow). The dessert was a Russian crème with raspberry. The dessert was quite good. My husband selected a bison burger. The only fault was it was missing the bacon. The burger was quite good.

The Christmas dinner was a disappointment. The wedge salad was not good. My son got a classic burger instead of the special dinner and I wish I had as well

Went for Christmas dinner. Totally disappointed. The value was not there. Cost was $60 but at the most it should have $40 per person. The meal was not hot. The prime rib was not tender, the potatoes were dry, the shrimp appetizer was watery and mushy. The wedge salad was the best part. For the cost I would think a glass of wine would be included. Usually the Grand Tree has very good food. Not sure we'll return anytime soon. Also a 3% fee is charged when using a credit card.

Went there for Thanksgiving dinner which was supposed to be all you can eat. Found out the food was loaded on your plate by someone else and brought out to the table. Turkey and ham was very dry. Mashed potatoes had maybe a spoon full of gravy. Green beans were good. Charging $40 per person for blah food was a waste.

Dining at the Club for Thanksgiving is a fabulous idea for a holiday dinner, especially for those (us) who do not have any local family. The one menu with all of the favorites to choose from was a fabulous idea as well. Thanks!

Marketed as a high end steakhouse but it’s just a loud local hangout where folks get drunk and noisy. Feels more like a tailgate party before a football game but paying $40 for a poor quality steak that isn’t cooked to order. Don’t bother.

Dan, it means a lot to us that you took the time to provide us with the details from your experience. It is with valuable feedback such as this that we are able to grow and prosper as a company. This location has been around for 40 years, back when Bozeman was a small cowboy town. As a result, it does get very busy on and around Montana State gamedays. We will continue to learn ways to better mitigate the traffic during those busy times, and I will certainly bring your feedback regarding the steaks you ordered to the attention of our Chef, and the cooks. Again, thank you so much for taking the time to convey all of this to us. I do hope you will give us another chance the next time you're in the area.

This place is the perfect mix of historic Bozeman culture, with modern local vibes, and food that is to die for. You won't find better food, service, or atmosphere in all of Bozeman, especially for Montana State Bobcat games! They even have NFL Sunday Ticket!

The waiter was over booked and made multiple mistakes with the food and forgot two peoples dinners. We came for a birthday and was not offered dessert and it took 45 minutes to get our checks and pay.
