   My wife and I returned after many years to The Chequers for a lunchtime meal. We were not disappointed as it still maintains that special ambience of an established and quality establishment. The food and service were first rate and we hope to be able return on a more regular basis. Thank you

   We have enjoyed the pub many times over the years & always make the effort to come when we can, this afternoon was a disappointment, food was spot on but the service sadly let the visit down, the waitresses that served us could not wait to finish..... however we still left a tip for the lovely guy who's alway a gent with dark hair & lady with glasses who always smile

   came for a meal with friends and the food was excellent we just felt like the server was pushing us to finish up and vacate our table when we were still finishing our drinks (and the restaurant was not full or even particularly busy) otherwise a good experience

   Ordered 2 different pizzas which were good, plus a mixed side salad, I particularly asked for no mozzarella as the pizza has adequate, but plenty of mixed leaves, cucumber etc however, the salad consisted of lots of slices of tomatoes with a scant covering of leaves

   Haven't been to chequers for about 3 years. We thought the food had gone up several notches. Everything was excellent. Service was quick, efficient and attentive. Food quality was excellent and the place was packed out, even at 7pm. It was also very reasonably priced for the quqlity offered. Really lovely experience and we will be back soon. Thank you.

   Quite an underwhelming visit, from waiting 25 minutes for our table to be wiped clean and menus provided, to the ‘just about ok’ food. One plus point was that the member of staff who looked after us was friendly and fairly efficient, but overall I wouldn’t rush back.

    Had a table for 5 on a Wednesday eve. Pub was quiet but very warm & welcoming. Great variety on menu. Food was absolutely brilliant, hot, fresh and tasty. Good size portions. Waiter was friendly, polite & helpful. Great experience overall and will be back as soon as we can!
