   The worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Table was booked for 3pm and we weren’t seated until 3.30, as it was Mother’s Day, didn’t think much of it. Most of the Mother’s Day set menu was unavailable and substituted with other cheaper options but the set menu price stayed the same. Waited over 2hrs for our starters. Overall dinner took 4.5hrs. Each roast dinner had different clubbed together vegetable sides. Potatoes were cold and dry and you needed a straw to eat the cauliflower cheese, it was so watery. To top everything off, a fingernail was found in one of the desserts. The area manager was full of pathetic excuses. Would not recommend!

   I enjoyed my meal and indeed the whole experience: online booking was easy, the menu was imaginative and the food very good. Our waitress was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Not cheap, but in life you tend to get what you pay for, and I think it’s good value. I will return for sure and am happy to recommend The Chelsfield to friends and family.

   Had a very enjoyable meal. Met with the smell of burning wood from the log burner, lovely staff and good food. Will be going again.

   Very disappointed with the food the way it was presented vegtables very undercooked. Not very festive never heard of a discretionary service charge in a pub overall would not return.

   Dear Tracy, I am sorry to hear that you did not have the experience you hoped however, I am a bit surprised too. I had been to your table multiple times to check that everything was good, but you never mentioned anything of the above. Regarding the discretionary service charge, the service is applied to every table that has received table service by our waiting team and it is optional.     Went for Monday night dinner with family. Welcoming bar staff. The restaurant wasn’t busy. Unfortunately they didn’t have chicken that was on the menu so we had burgers and a lamb dish. The food was delicious. Could not fault it at all. I asked for oat milk with my tea, expecting a no, but that wasn’t an issue. The highlight of the evening was definitely the wonderful guy who served us. He was a very helpful, jovial and deserves a special mention. Thank you
