Paul Friedman is a Master Chef with over 40 years of experience in the restaurant industry,having owned and operated over 50 successful restaurant concepts in South Africa, Germany, and the U.S. Paul began his career as a manager and worked his way up to franchise owner, then Director of Operations.
He opened Paul's Pizza Shops - a nationally recognized pizza concept in Northwest Houston, Texas in 1994.
Paul later developed a new concept, becoming the Executive Chef, CEO and partner at Peli Peli - a nationally recognized South African Fusion Restaurant which opened in 2009 in Houston, Texas. Having retired from Pelipeli in 2018 he has returned to his original location at Vintage Park with his latest concept The Chefs Table.
Chef Friedman says this is by far my best creation yet and I hope to leave a legacy here for my children and grandchildren to be proud of.

The food and drinks were incredible, service was utterly outstanding, and it made an u forgettable night. We went for Valentines Day and the intimate setting was amazing as was the seasonal food. The take home biltong was also delicious! The chef even came by to personally give a valentines bag for the ladies to me!

My wife and I went to Chef's Table to celebrate Valentine's Day and were extremely impressed with food and the service. My wife is on a plant-based diet for health reasons and it can be can be extremely challenging to eat out. They had 5 entrees, two starters that were vegan, and vegan creme brulee for dessert. I had the lamb porterhouse which was absolutely fantastic and perfectly cooked. Our server Madison was very knowledgeable and helpful. When the lavender cappuccino didn't quite work out for my wife due to no non dairy milk available, she comped it without us having to ask. All her menu recommendations were on point. My only complaint is that we may have been seated under an a/c vent and it was a little cold for us in the dining room. Other than that we had an amazing dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was really good but the problem I had was we had reservations and had to wait 45 minutes to be seat because they overbooked. The whole reason why we had reservations was to be seated on arrival. If we were 10 minutes late you lose your reservation here and most places so this is inexcusable. Nothing was offered for this mistake by the restaurant. Other than that it was a good restaurant

We selected Chef’s Table to celebrate my husband’s birthday and Valentine’s Day. We are so glad we did! The ambiance and food were amazing! Chef Paul stopped by our table for a conversation and added a special touch to our experience by deboning a South African Sole for my husband. He did it with such grace and you can see he put his love into what he does and it shows! My husband enjoyed it immensely. I had the Cape Point Crossing which is a mix of grilled seafood with calamari prawns mussels and more served over a bed of saffron rice The taste of this dish is indescribably delicious! It’s definitely a entree for 2. We definitely have plans to return soon to try other appetizers and entrees The Chef’s Table has to offer!
