At the Cartford Inn, we offer a brand of hospitality that is truly unique, hallmarked by an award-winning restaurant, boutique hotel, delicatessen and art gallery. Our location is enviable, with guests able to enjoy panoramic views of the Ribble Valley and Fylde countryside whilst dining. Our décor is quirky and eclectic, in keeping with our building’s 17th century heritage, but with a modernist twist.

Of course the main attraction is our 2-Rosette winning, Michelin recommended restaurant. Run by head chef Chris Bury, we offer the finest quality food without the fuss, in an atmosphere that is warm and unpretentious. Expect a discernible French influence, evidenced by our renowned French onion soup – a dish that is well worth a visit in its own right.

We look forward to welcoming you!

Absolutely loved our early Mothers Day Meal today. The food was really good. Staff were attentive without feeling constantly present. I felt it was good value for the standard of the food.

This used to be our favourite place , great food ,waiters and waitresses well trained explained about the food , spoke very well. It stood out , now the place seems to be like all the other places trying to do to much. We came for birthday just the 2 of us got sat next to the door and directly behind where a buddy holly lookalike started playing guitar so speakers right behind us. We ordered 2 appetisers one was cheese croquet thing covers in Parmazan very thick gooey needed some sort of a sauce , mayo to dip really , looked really nice though and well presented , then we had like a corn beef fritter with sour crout tasted alot better , I then asked for some olives and they were great very tasty big we both enjoyed. We then waited about half n hr for the mains and the music came on which was too loud when your sitting right next to the speaker .. when the main was on its way we asked to sit on n another table which was fine , I had the suet pudding which has been on the menu for years, very nice , my partner had the pork chop, it was covered in a sauce and had a warm baby gem lettuce with what was like polenta.. but too much faff trying to hard just wanted chop n mash really. The food is nice chef is good and stuff is locally sourced it’s just all the other stuff that goes with it.. too much art being sold on the walls, farm shop, jewellery making , Easter eggs, posh lodges. It used to be a little gem great food.. totally understand they have done well and expanded the place but too much for us now. It’s lost its charm. Cost us just over 100 for the above with 3 drinks so not too over priced but they do have extra charge added to bill which a lot of places have nowadays. If you go for first time you will probabaly like it and the food.. sorry to moan and apologies to cartford, we are from Blackpool so 15 mins drive used to love going for a walk and coming here for food. All the best

Lovely food, great atmosphere, staff very friendly. Good to be able to chose between child free and child friendly dining areas Jean very accommodating with booking requirements and last minute changes. Have had midweek dining and Sunday lunch and would recommend it all… Very easy to see why this inn won Inn of the year…

This place is magnificent and it’s our new favourite. The food is brilliant and me being obsessed by desserts I have to mention the chocolate and stem ginger torte which is probably the best dessert I’ve had in ages

Ate this evening (16.03.2025). Part of one meal was missing which had to be pointed out to the staff and us having haf to ask for missing portion. Three people at our table had ribeye steak, but no steak knives were provided which we also had to ask for. No-one asked us if we wanted to order any more drinks and or our bottle of tap water needed re-filling but no-one offered to do so? Those who had steak really enjoyed it but said the peppercorn sauce was mild/not very peppery. Their meal was served with no veg, only one very small sliced tomato and mushroom and a bit of watercress). The beef served with the roast beef Sunday dinner was chewy and fatty and was left piled up on the edge of the plate. This was almost £25], quite an expensive meal which on the whole, was not up to standard and the service could/should have been much better.

We had an outstanding meal at the Cartford Inn. Five star in every department. Fantastic food, service and ambiance. The live entertainment (a saxophonist) was an added bonus!
