   A lovely thatched inn on the edge of Sidford / Sidmouth. A lovely interior serving good quality food. Bit of a mix up over the menu on a Sunday evening, dealt with very well by the manager.

   I was disappointed with my visit to the Blue Ball Inn. Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations, lacking both quality and flavor. It’s a shame, as I had hoped for a more enjoyable experience, but I won’t be returning.

   A very expensive restaurant nearly £7 for two very small/weak orange juice/ lemonades. £30 for a extremely fat steak with the smallest mushroom and tomato I have ever seen and a few chips. The steak was uneditable. At least the desert was good. I booked in advance with the special offer I was sent and was told you needed to have told us you wanted it so no. Very young staff. Certainly the worst restaurant in the local area fir value for money.

   Pre ordered, kitchen forgot our starters. Mains were not great brussels dreadfull almost black, turkey really dye. Parnips burnt. Really disapointed, had festive meal early in Decembr which was very good. Festive Meal Boxing Day was dreadfull. I sure it was Christmas Day leftovers. Would not recomend to anyone, which is sad as newly retired to the area.

   For Christmas Day the food was not as good as it can be .Too much gravy and the Christmas puddings could have been better .The Turkey was lovely very moist and the attention for the children with hat and crayons and book was lovely. The vegetarian pie was also good.. It was lovely not to have to cook and I am very grateful to everyone for giving up their Christmas So we could we lazy.!

   Such a lovely pub, warm welcoming atmosphere and great location for a family meal, additionally atmospheric in the festive season. The young staff were great and the food was delicious, were happy too, to provide something off menu for a fussy family member . Good location on edge of Sidford. Plenty of parking (and also some nice nearby riverside walks , if there in the daytime!) Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and hope to revisit again soon.

   My husband and I went to the Blueball with my brother and his wife for pre Christmas meal, nice atmosphere and the staff were friendly. But of a confusion over the bar and whether or not it was table service and they didnt have any Malibu but drinks arrived quickly. We ordered our food, good amount of choice especially with a few vegan options. Waited over 30mins for food to be served, not the hottest food ever but good pub food and was enjoyable. Would happily visit again
