First and last time dining here. Four out of the 6 of us had filet for dinner. The filets were not only cooked improperly (undercooked) but the steak lacked flavor and was so tough that you could barely cut it. The whipped potatoes were stiff and cold with no flavor. The vegetables were lacking seasoning. The side salad was the best part of the meal. Our waiter was very attentive and kind. He offered us a a free dessert but we declined. Such a sad experience for our family dinner. We eat at some very nice restaurants and I’m very disappointed in this experience and food. An expensive dinner that we didn’t eat.

My fiancée and I reside in Parkersburg, WV. On Friday, November 29 we took our two close friends visiting from Michigan to Blennerhasset Hotel for dinner. Dinner was a disappointing and embarrassing event. The calamari appetizer was salty, rubbery and the breading came off in chunks. The oysters Rockefeller were the worst I’ve ever tasted. I’m 75 years old and have dined at some of the finest restaurants in the world. Including drinks and a gratuity of 20% the total bill was $360. Our waiter Alex was excellent! The food was disappointing and we will never dine at Blennerhasset Hotel again.

I have been dining here at least once per year while traveling since 2016. The quality and value for food has declined significantly. However the ambiance and staff are great! I will try it again on my next trip.

My husband and I had a booth table for two. A woman and her elderly mother sat next to us in the booth, so, we actually were a part of their experience as well and vice versa. Our server, Nicole was excellent. The food, however, was not consistently up to par. The calamari was overcooked, thus chewy and the serving size was too much for an appetizer. My appetizer of lobster bisque was excellent. For our entree we had filet and prime rib which was cooked well and tasty. The mash potatoes were very good but luke warm. Our desert took a long time to arrive, and his ice cream was underwhelming and my Italian Ice pie was still a bit frozen. Our neighbors had a worse scenario. The woman asked if the bread was gluten free and was told yes. Turns out it was not. Then, her elderly mother got her chicken alfredo served sans the chicken. The server was apologetic and offered a discount on desert. The guest insisted on the entree being comped which made sense. Tjhe ambience is four stars. The food is three stars - especially for the price.

On a quiet Sunday night after a day long drive from North Carolina we sat down for dinner in a nearly empty dining room. Wanting a simple meal, to our surprise we looked at a menu listing few entrees and all at a price point unjustified by location and choices. As a result we ordered an appetizer and salad. The appetizer, calamari, was cold and rubbery. The salad was nondescript but edible. The glass of house chardonnay looked like a three ounce pour and was tasteless. Over the years we have stayed at the hotel on our travels and eaten dinner in the then versions of the restaurant. The current version doesn't begin to measure up to them!

The hotel is a magnificent throwback to an easier, classier age of travel. The room was great despite being small as 19th C. Hotel rooms were but it was elegant and tastefully decorated. The bar was cozy, beautiful, with well made drinks and friendly conversation. Dinner Service in the restaurant by Scott was attentive and all around excellent. We split the twin beef medallions with a stuffed baked potato and Caesar salad that was exquisite. The Belle Glos Pinot Noir was terrific and priced reasonably. The chef greeted us for breakfast, apology for being off the night before. We spilt a veggie omelette, with home fries, wheat toast and a side of bacon. Each of the pieces were excellent on its own. The omelette was fresh and hot, the home fries had a uniquely wonderful flavor, the thick wheat toast was perfectly toasted, served with sweet butter. The bacon had great flavor; the chef brought us an additional serving of bacon, believing that the first batch was overcooked( which it wasn’t). Our car was delivered from valet and loaded by our attentive bellman. To top it all off, the hotel has a dog in the lobby, as a means to homing dogs to families.

I felt the seating was a little cramped. Too close to my neighbor. It was a wonderful dinner and the server was great. The food was delicious!
