The Blackbird Restaurant is a Chef Owned Restaurant serving local, fresh ingredients. The Blackbird’s goal is to delight guests with cooking grounded in the traditions and ingredients of the Carolinas creating an unique and vibrant menu – New American with Southern Flares.

The menu features the seasonal best from local farmers, fresh catches from the coast of the Carolinas, incredible local micro-brews, specialty cocktails, and great wines from the around the world. Our menu changes seasonally to reflect the bounty of the area and the chef’s creativity. The Blackbird’s award-winning food, desserts and prompt service will impress you every time.

We are located in the heart of downtown Asheville, on Biltmore Ave. You can find us at the corner of The Aloft Hotel.

Parking Garage is located at the back on Lexington Ave. The first hour is free.

    The food was mediocre and the service was just ok. I paid $240 bucks for food that I could have cooked myself for $60. The girlfriend wasn’t happy either

    The service was very slow. Waited about an hour and a half from when entre was ordered. The main meal was very ordinary. Appetizers were excellent Not up to its usual standards.

    Hello Phyllis Hello as the Chef Owner we always try to hit the highest of standards every time, unfortunately I was not there that night. So I have done a bit of research and my line cook, who is relatively young in the restaurant business, dropped 2 of your main courses for the table on the ground and was embarrassed to say anything and just remade all of them. Again this is not acceptable and we will make sure your next experience is up to our and your standards. Chef Michael Reppert

    We had a lovely Thanksgiving day lunch. Our server was excellent. The turkey was exceptional and so was the autumn soup (sweet potato bisque). However, the sides (green beans with fried? onions, dressing with gravy, Brussels sprouts, and mashed potatoes) were mediocre. Desserts were disappointing: coconut cake and a dry, flavorless bread pudding which came with hardly a teaspoon of creme anglaise. Overall, the meal was overpriced. The chef stopped by our table, a nice touch. Regarding interior design, furnishings & decor are functional but not interesting or particularly comfortable. The blackbird is celebrated in several pieces of art, & the Crow Bar is cleverly named. Knowing of the chef’s French training & that the restaurant received a Wine Spectator award last year, I had higher expectations.

    Our server who just started back at work the evening we came was marvelous. She was friendly and on point with service. The Blackbird Cocktail was amazing! The Sweet Potato Soup was also delicious. The Steak Tartare lacked robust flavor but was OK. The scallop-shrimp risotto entre was excellent. The filet was tasty but more like a pot roast then a steak. Overall its a great experience and connected in the same building with 2 great hotel bars in the Aloft and Moxy. Start at one of the hotels and finish up at The Blackbird. Makes for a nice evening,

    The Cinnamon Challah with coconut was phenomenal. French press coffee was very good. Great place for great food and conversation. Overall environment was relaxing. 100% recommend this restaurant.
