   Trained staff only should be allowed to settle bills. We were told that no service charge had been applied to our bill so we offered to add on 10%. When we looked at the bill later a service charge of 12.5% HAD been applied. Therefore we had paid a total of 22.5% in service charges! It was not worth that much! This was a case of either insufficient training or sharp practice.

   Sunday lunch was amazing, it looked and smelt fantastic. We ordered the roast beef and it was amazing, it melted in the mouth. The venue and staff all fantastic.

   Surprisingly quiet for a Friday night this close to Christmas, but the food was tasty, generous and our waitress was great. Highly recommend the turkey !

   Very nice all staff lovely. Food was great just watch out if you want the steak ask for it a bit more cooked than you expect. Otherwise it was lovely

   Lovely dining area. Fanatic staff attentive and friendly. The food was nice - I had king prawn curry (with crispy samphire - delicious) and husband had sausages and mash. Flavour was lovely. We had cheese straws to nibble - they were much bigger than straws 😂

   Made a last minute reservation and had no trouble booking. Service was outstanding from start to finish. Food was excellent and great value for money. First time we had been here and was made to feel very welcome. I would definitely recommend The Bear Inn.

   The Sunday lunch is one of the best I've had, food is consistently good each time we visit. Staff are great, they always make a fuss over my dog. The place has a very relaxed vibe which I like.

   Very busy pub which is a good recommendation to start with. Food was great and the staff were engaging, helpful and charismatic.

    Visited the Bear Inn of Bath during our vacation through England and Ireland. We wanted to try a traditional Sunday Roast and we were recommended to the Bear by our innkeeper. We were warmly welcomed by the staff upon our arrival and seated at a table near the front windows. We ordered beverages (Guiness and a Lager) and placed our dinner orders (roast of Beef). The food came in a reasonable timeframe, was plated nicely and tasted delicious. The Yorkshire Pudding was exceptional! For dessert we had two pastry puddings with ice cream. The entire meal was outstanding and truly value for the price paid. The Bear is a mix of locals and guests to Bath. There were families dining (some with dogs) who knew other patrons, a group of locals in the pub area watching a rugby match and some other visitors (like us). This was truly one of our most enjoyable dining experiences during our trip through England. If you’re in or near Bath, the Bear is truly worth a visit.
