Overall great experience. We had the set course menu with the Iberico ham addition. Each of the courses was delicious, however there was a bit too much food in total; we ended up feeling full after the steak dish. The steak absolutely delicious and melted in our mouths but was a bit too much and made us feel full going into the final courses. On balance, it might have been beneficial to have replaced some of the meat dishes with a vegetable dish or two. Overall a tremendous experience; our service was very good as well.

We were rushed to the extent that when 3 courses were on the table, the runner tried to put the fourth on, I sent it back, only for it to be served by the waiter with the comment that this was the last course anyway. It was the sirloin steak that looked the worst of all the presentations, and was tough. The 2 sommeliers were most pleasant and knowledgeable even though the $90.00 charge for 4 lower quality wines I found excessive, the Cab was veyr good though. The waiter mostly did not know what he was serving, and ran away as soon as a course was served. We ordered Cappuccino, but the machine was broken All in all not an evening to remember after spending over $700.00 for us 3. Michael Hoskam

Our vegetarian group had lunch in the Waldorf Astoria Bazaar DC on a Saturday. Ambiance was very nice in the old post office building although I would have preferred some vintage Latin music rather than the hotel’s harp music. Service was attentive. Desired mocktails but only one recommended, and no non-alcoholic beer options were available. Food was tasty but few tapas were intensely flavorful. The patatas bravas red sauce was outstanding but the pisto manchego paled in comparison. The Waldorf salad was light and refreshing but the sweet chips yogurt espuma did not seem like the correct complement to the chips (prefer a garlic based dipping sauce). The Adria olives are always good (more olive than olive) with accompanying cheese board. This was our first visit and didn’t get to try the other vegetarian options, but not sure I would go again as other tapas restaurants have provided comparable or better value.

The food was phenomenal and the atmosphere set it over the top. I took my parents who loved it and also had the chance to experience The Bazaar in Vegas. They had two completely different experiences and loved them both. The servers and staff were all so welcoming and showed us safe as well as the food they brought out. This experience was unforgettable and for any special occasion I have with friends/family I will bring them here to enjoy themselves.

I’ve been to many of Chef Andres’ restaurants, Jaleo is a Gem, and I have always enjoyed them. 5/5. BUT I would not recommend the Bazaar in DC to anyone. I’m highly disappointed. We got the Thanksgiving dinner today. The wait staff never brought out our salads, we said nothing and moved on. We had a spill at our table and no wait staff came to assist. They had to be asked for a fresh glass after the accident. They had to be asked for fresh napkins after we used them to clean up the orange juice that was spilled. We were regularly overlooked for water and wine. We ordered three dinners and received two pieces of duck to divide for ourselves. Servers rushed through the explanations of the dishes we were being served or did not know what they were so they called others over. It was cold shoulder service and not what I’ve come to expect from Chefs restaurants by far. We certainly did not receive the dining experience we paid for. Not even close. The only saving grace was the sommelier. He was polite, warm, courteous, and an expert. He helped us pair our dinner with the perfect wine. Meals were served while people were in the restroom, some of us didn’t get utensils or fresh plates between servings, I mean what did we really pay for if not for the experience? I don’t look for these things but it was so bad that it was distracting. I’m saddened that this place holds Chef Andres’ name. I feel if he knew of what is happening there he would not be happy. Sub par all around, minus the sommelier, who was fantastic. I’m so sorry to say but it’s true. We feel completely robbed and again, very disappointed on Thanksgiving. Should have stayed home.
