A wonderful ambience. Exceptional service and lovely beautifully cooked and presented meal. Just a little confused as I thought I had booked a roast dinner on line but at first was brought light meals menu. However it was soon established that we could have the roast meal menu. Also no pics on line of the’Pantry’ as opposed to the ‘Dining room’ so couldn’t appreciate the difference. However very happy with the comfort and relaxed atmosphere for our seniors group for birthday celebration with comfortable dining and lounges for drinks and coffees.

The food was OK but nothing special. The service was ppor. Confused our orders. The wine came too late. After having a long lunch we had a light evening meal. The only offer of bread was a complete bread basket - far too much. When we asked for just 1 roll it was offered grudgingly and thhen when we asked for butter, got a sarcastic reply "Oh, you want butter as well?" Will not go back.

I booked to celebrate my mum’s 80th birthday, sent emails back and forth with queries relating to ensuring an umbrella was placed above our table due to having elderly guests and originally I requested a flower bouquet for the table for my mother. I didn’t hear back regarding the requests so I arranged flowers elsewhere and cancelled the flowers with the priory. I also reiterated the need for an umbrella for the table as it was extremely hot. We were seated at a table that didn’t have an umbrella and no shade at all. We were attended to so slowly that it was 45 minutes until we got our first drink. We had to request an umbrella three times before it was provided and had to move the table ourselves in order for it to be covered. When the menus were brought they did not bring the child menu (anlthough we clearly had a child with us) and when asked for took a surprisingly long time to arrive. Our sides then arrived 20 mins before the main! Meaning they were cold by the time we ate. They got the order for dessert completely wrong, the tatty uncomfortable rattan seats didn’t have cushions whilst some did and because the waitress was rushed she told me to pay inside even though other customers were happily paying at their tables. I would never recommend this place for a special occasion as it was a huge disappointment, disorganised, cold in approach and chaotic. The staff looked hurried and stressed and two were new and clearly hadn’t been given adequate training and I felt awful for them. For a 5* total and restaurant I expected far more.

Lunch on the terrace on a beautiful sunny day was beyond our expectations. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

We had a really lovely breakfast sitting out on the terrace. Service was friendly, the food was delicious and good value for such a beautiful location. All dietary requirements were dealt with easily. Will definitely be back soon for another visit.

We were delighted to be able to sit in the sunshine on the Terrace. Sadly the waitress forgot to bring the drinks menu and they took a long time to arrive.
