Ride the elevator up to The Aviator, the rooftop bar at Hotel Polaris. Where expansive views of the Air Force Academy and the Rocky Mountains are the only things that rival the shareable appetizers and exceptional craft cocktails.

The Aviator has a lot of work to do before we will go back. It started with the abrasive hostess with the big mouth. From there we had a good waiter that was mostly on point. Then came the food that is difficult to describe. We ordered 3 appetizers and 2 glasses of wine. The wine was very good but the food was horrible. The bao bun with beef had a rectangular chunk of something they called beef, but it looked like a block of Spam. Actually Spam would have been much better. $120 for 2 glasses of wine, 3 appetizers including tip. Definitely had buyers remorse. The building is beautiful and in the summer evenings the 9th floor deck will be the place to be for drinks and a great mountain view, but pass on the food. Unfortunately the main restaurant downstairs, Pamela's, has its share of service and food quality issues. We tried that a few weeks ago. The food was better but not great and it took 35 minutes to get wine. I totally understand it takes a monumental effort to get a big hotel up to speed, but please fix the food. You can do better.

Had a great time at the Aviator for New Years Eve celebration. Service was attentive, the music selection was awesome. Drinks were excellent. The atmosphere of this lounge and hotel reminds me of an upscale Vegas hotel.

Beautiful atmosphere and view! Our beverages and charcuterie board were great. Our service was friendly but slow. The bar could use another bartender especially on weekend nights. We loved it though and will definitely return as we know the hotel is new and will work out these minor bugs.

We came for Christmas dinner to do something different. We had a prefix five course meal. The food and service were spot on. They served charcuterie as course two after a truffle devils egg that was divine. They were only open for two weeks so people were still training so there a few kinks to be worked out but that’s to be expected. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The view is spectacular. If you’re eating I wouldn’t want to sit in the middle chairs and lean over on to a coffee table which they tried to seat us.

The atmosphere is lovely, relaxing and beautiful view of the mountains. The food was great. We had a five course Christmas dinner with choices available for four of the five courses.

Server in the lounge area was extremely rude. Did not want to serve us (assuming cause it was later in the evening) and said we couldn’t sit where we sat down cause they were waiting for a reservation. The reservation was 30min late. She was extremely rude in her tone and delivery and when questioned about it she doubled down and was even ruder.
