Love the drink selection! Food was very good! Hot Chicken Old Bay sandwich could have used more Old Bay! Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup was awesome! Chicken Pasta dish was exceptional. It was nice to find a Corn Dog on the kids menu!! It was very busy, so I cut him some slack, but our waiter was not very attentive! Forgot to bring my drink order!!

Great experience as always. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her birthday celebration at this establishment. We frequent the Alehouse quite a bit and always pleased with service.

Our meeting with friends from Virginia went very well. We enjoyed our two-hour lunch. The food was great, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the service was superb. Abby was fabulous. Thanks for a great experience. We will be back for our next semi-annual lunch. Laura Thompson

First time dinner at this place on a Friday night and never coming back. Service: waiter took the order and never came back to check if we needed anything. Our food came out late, all at once and cold. Yes—the round of appetizer and entrees were brought out all together. When I asked why we are getting everything at once, the female staff member stated that “this is how the order came out on the ticket”. When I said that we would rather have our staters first, she said that this was not her fault, this was the waiter’s fault, and that she can’t take them back. When I asked again if we can have appetizers first, she said: “Do you want your food or not?”. She was VERY rude and vocal. I asked “What’s with the attitude?”, she responded: “I am not the one with the attitude here”. It is worth to note that this dialogue took place in front of my 6 yo son, who then asked me if we did something wrong and why “this girl was so angry?”. The waiter came up to us later and appeared apologetic. He said she was stressed out because she had a tough party going on inside…One more thing worth mentioning is that while my family was sitting there waiting for food, several times the staff would bring out customers’ orders and would have quite obvious difficulties figuring out which table it was for. “We did not order this” and “This is not our food” was an ongoing theme in the background. To my eye they did not look busy (yes, it was Friday night around 19:00, with many tables unoccupied both inside and outdoors). Food: my All Burger tasted like nothing. Had no flavor at all. It was grossly undercooked and was topped off with over fried onion rings. There was so much mayo, that the bottom half of the bun turned to mush. Our appetizers, including tuna tacos and meatballs were also devoid of flavor. To be fair, my wife enjoyed her shrimp and orzo. Bottom line: I was a full time waiter for years, and even in my darkest moments I would never whale out on a customer. Denis Kotsoev

We went to Alehouse Columbia because we hadn't been there in quite awhile. We got reminded as to why that was. The food was just not good. We got the spinach & artichoke dip and it was pretty bland. The tortilla chips with which it was served were stale & too thin to support the dip. We also got the devilled eggs and the tostada nachos. The devilled eggs were just weird. The menu said the devilled eggs had bacon jam and green onions on them. When they arrived, they had bits of bacon, a bit of onion, and huge dollops of red goopy sauce. I only ate 1 of them and they just tasted odd; I've never had tomato-ey anything added to a devilled egg before. My hubby said he thought they were trying to make some kind of BLT devilled egg or something and it just didn't work out well. The last time we had gotten the tostada nachos, they were pretty good. Not so this time. The same thin, little, stale corn chips were used. Previously, they had used tostada shells cut in fourths which were a bit thicker and sturdier. The thin corn tortilla chips could not support the weight of all the toppings and were soggy under the black beans, cheese, and caramelized onions. There was supposed to be chicken on there too, but dang if I could find it. We cut our losses with the appetizers and finished our dinner elsewhere. We are not likely to return.

Area needs to be cleaner and waiters/waitresses need to be much more conscious of what their customers need. There were several times when we needed the waitress and she wasn’t available or present. Additionally, there needs to be better cleaning of the tables and the seats there were crumbs all over the tables and on the seats and on the floors.
