This was a very poor experience. The buffet was expensive. Yet the food was room temperature at best and cool at worst. The serving utensils were absolutely filthy. Our server spilled my fiancé's drink so the glass was sticky. Very few food options. A real letdown.

Many times, a restaurant with a view focuses on the view, and puts the quality of the food in second place (or third place, if it has a bar). The Ahwahnee, however, has a beautiful view, a great ambience, attentive servers, AND beautifully prepared food.

I’ve been wanting to try the Awani hotel for dinner for many years. I was a little disappointed in the selection. The only vegetable was broccolini and a salad that had been emptied by the earlier seating. The dessert choices were slim at lemon tart and brownie. We received the cocktail we ordered at the beginning of our dinner at the end of our dinner

Food was okay but not worth the price. While we haven't been to Yosemite for quite a few years, the experience used to be a lot better. Piano was nice, service pretty good, but they were out of one of the meagre desserts when we got to the table. Also we dressed up for the dinner but most people there barely bothered to clean up. What used to be a special reward during our visits to Yosemite fell way short of what it used to be. We will try the restaurant at the Lodge instead next time. But, the view from the back of the hotel of Half Dome with the moon rising was amazing.

The buffet was terrible. Food was cold and then they ran out and we had to wait 30 min before new food came - half the table was done before any additional food came for folks to get a first serving. In the end some folks didn’t even eat. Also, the waitstaff barely checked on us. Very disappointed given the cost.

This is an iconic location and dining experience. The staff and our waiter Alec were excellent. They provided us with a beautiful table and did everything they could to make our dining experience memorable. As their kitchen is still under re-construction, the meal is a buffet. My wife and I are not buffet fans and found the selection of food average. The good news is their kitchen should be operational by late summer. I'd highly recommend dining here as it is a very unique experience. When they return to regular dining I'm sure the food will also return to first class.

The place is special to sit and eat, but the Sunday buffet was very disappointing. At 7:45 pm, food was not fresh, been sitting out a long time or was all gone. Refills finally came after I asked for them, but the prime rib was still “moo-ing” with red ends even. Pork was barely warm, other choices average at best. Dessert was just little pieces of chocolate bars or lemon chucks. Even the best salad (nuts, raisins, lettuce) was not that special and had many waiting on a refill. The price of $69 each was very, very over-priced for what they gave us. And you have to pay to park there too, no self parking, valet only. Construction vehicles and building blocked the view, but we were warned of that beforehand. Still, a very disappointing experience. The evening started off with the discovery that we had to drive for 25 minutes, around the valley one way circle road to get there from our room at the Yosemite Lodge. Even though the place was only a couple of minutes away, the road is one way and we couldn’t go that direction. Craziest traffic pattern I have ever seen, and I have been there 4 times and never noticed this. I had been to the Ahwahnee about 10 years ago and had a much better experience, parking in their lot for free, had a nice regular dinner, and didn’t have to drive all around the valley to get there.
