   VERY SPECIAL dinner treat for our first visit to NYC. Food was spectacular. The sommelier was well able to assist us find just the right wine.

   I always enjoy this restaurant. The ambiance is great and the food is always good. I had the lamb which was perfectly cooked. Attentive service and a fun sommelier.

   Great Food, with just right amount of portions. The service was Fantastic. However, the speed that the food was brought in, could be a little slower, so that there would be more time to talk at the table. Overall the experience was Very Good !!

   The mushroom appetizer had an astonishing depth of flavor. The braised lamb with eggplant was meltingly soft, but much too salty for my taste. The pistachio and chocolate dessert was carefully assembled and delicious. Perhaps the most surprising moment was how well the relatively inexpensive white Spanish wine paired with the amuse-bouche gazpacho! I never thought I'd see the day that gazpacho brought out the best in a wine . . . The dining room is much quieter than the bar, which was welcome.

   My wife and I came back here to celebrate our 1 year anniversary after saying “I Do” at The Beekman. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our evening was memorable and even surprised us with several drinks and appetizers for the special occasion. We plan to make this a yearly event to celebrate! Thank you so much to everyone for making our night special and for the phenomenal menu during restaurant week.

   The experience as a whole is delightful and delicious at every bite with great attentiveness from table setting to service. One of the most beautiful and memorable experiences in NYC.

    It's is nice to be able to enjoy a great meal in an absolutely lovely atmosphere, with a lot of people enjoying themselves. In a space where tablemates can hear one another. It is unclear if the very lengthy time between when the table is cleared til dessert arrives is deliberate or curiously negligent; easily 20 minutes. Doesn't seem long does it? Try it at home. The table next to us was quite frustrated. They waited an eternity for pieces of a birthday cake that they had brought and then they waited even more for the entire cake to be repackaged for them to take home. To try and avoid it at our table, I put my timer on my phone and put the phone visibly on the table. There were a few stops by the restaurant staff. The maitre'd stopped to introduce himself and apologized, explaining that the kitchen was backed up. Why would the kitchen be backed up - I suppose there could be many reasons. But this has happened each of the times we have been here. We go back for the food and atmosphere. Dessert was a pavlova - which after it finally arrived, was wonderful. We had been speculating that the dessert was individually made prior to departing the kitchen. But having made a pavlova, realized that the meringue had been made ahead and all that was necessary was the addition of the fruit accompaniment. Additionally, the bill had an additional bar drink that was not ordered, let alone brought to the table. This, too, has routinely happened before. So, no we don't go for the service - which is actually quite lovely and attentive before the entree dishes are removed.
