   Food was excellent, and good service. I enjoyed seeing the Slate hotel - its rich history and the thoughtful way they’ve updated the building. The restaurant is in the lobby of the hotel, but that didn’t diminish our experience.

   The service was fairly slow considering it was only our table and one other table dining. ( food took forever not our server) Atmosphere was okay but felt like we were dining in the middle of the hotel hall way. Very average experience the food was okay but nothing worth commenting on or recommending.

   This is a hotel lobby. It is not a restaurant. If you are looking for a dining experience - this is not it.

   DO NOT EAT HERE for Thanksgiving or any holiday function. My husband and I ate here for our Thanksgiving meal and we were very disappointed with the food and service we received. Our chicken pot pie soup was cold as well as our turkey and gravy entree. The only meal we received that was warm was our dessert that we ordered to go because it took 30 minutes for it to be prepared. Our waitress recognized the service we received and did comp our drinks. If you really want a nice, quality, holiday dinner, do not eat here.

    The food was excellent and so were the cocktails! The little details that show how the space was once a school are exciting, from the menus to the names of the cocktails to the fact that they retained so many classic components of the school make the space really exciting!
