FARM TO TABLE – LITERALLY.
When we say farm to table, we mean it.

Because we have our own farm. And the love for it brought this restaurant to life. That is why we believe in Hungarian smallholders, local ingredients and enjoy the beauties of the countryside.

Our mission is to take along this feeling to the downtown of Budapest. But we also bring our passion for seasonal dishes and sustainability with us. To showcase local products in new and more contemporary way.

Welcome to TATI!

Even though we had a reservation, we were seated in the lower level basement, in the back corner of the second room down there, with a view of the underside of the staircase. A big table of tourists were down there at a table for 10, otherwise just two tables were occupied (one by a couple on their phones watching videos without earbuds). The candel didn't help alleviate the feeling of being in a cold, dark space. The ground level bar and dining room is lively, fun, great decor, view over the street. When you reserve, they ask "bar or table" but not "upstairs or downstairs". Such a disappointment to sit downstairs, I regret we didn't just leave and return when they could give us a table with the rest of the guests. The waiter was amazing (I'm sure he felt sorry for us) and the food wonderful, which is why I give it three stars overall. But ambience is important. Otherwise we'd just have the food delivered to our apartment.

We were looking for a restaurant thats open on Sunday with good vegan options. We couldn’t have picked a better restaurant. The atmosphere at the restaurant was very cozy, perfect for an evening night out and people at TATI made us feel super welcome. The food was brilliant. We had the vegan tasting menu and we were blown away by it. The cabbage strudel is a must try if you are lucky that the ingredients are in season! They alternate the menu every season so all ingredients are so fresh and delicious! 5 star all in all!

The food was really fantastic - fresh and absolutely delicious. We tried the goulash soup, two types of chicken, egg sandwich and one of the toasts. Everything was cooked perfectly (the goulash was excellent and the crispy chicken - top 🔝 ), the plates were beautifully decorated! The classic lemonade was one of a kind! The service was very quick and attentive. The place has an atmosphere, it is elegantly furnished with nice details. Overall, a pleasant surprise to our trip to Budapest! Greatly recommended!

We were recommended to TaTi by a server in Vienna (itself a food capitol of Europe) and it lived up to his recommendation! Our server, Anna, was personable and attentive. We ordered the Chef's tasting menu, which consisted of FIVE different courses. TaTi would say that it was based on Hungarian cuisine, but we found everything other than Goulash to be quite an interesting spin on things. For example, the dessert - Cottage Cheese Balls - contained no cottage cheese, but instead was a white chocolate mouse "ball". The Hunters Stew was not a stew at all, but a really unique dish of sliced beef cheek on a slice of bread. Trust me it is all better than my poor attempts at describing them. Needless to say we were delighted by it all and would do it again.

Great place if you want to sit for 2+ hours waiting for courses to be served. Went on a Thursday night at 7pm and very busy. Food presentation was excellent and food was above par. Service was slow and we had asked when we got bill to pay about tipping as it appeared on machine as we had read if There was a service fee (12.5%) was added, no tipping required so we shared with our server who immediately was rude and said service is not the same as tipping. We felt obligated to tip but shouldn’t have Also we had asked a question about one of the dishes and the server was defensive and said it was the way it was with no discussion as it may have been our misunderstanding of dish but we felt he was dismissive and rude in that instance and that of tipping

If you want an interesting and different eating experience in Budapest try Goli rather than TATI. At Goli you can watch the chefs work, the food and service were good, and staff were super helpful. At TATI my salad starter was a bowl of a few lettuce leaves and my main (Chicken Paprika) was bland and lukewarm. We waited almost an hour for our mains and it was expensive. Would not recommend or return.

Wonderful meal, relaxed ambience and friendly service. We started with the goulash soup and had the chicken paprikas as the main. The goulash was delicious, but the paprikas was outstanding. The chicken was crispy and accompanied by dumplings in a creamy sauce. I would go back for the paprikas every day. I think our bill came to about $95 with tip which is very reasonable for two diners with 3 glasses of wine.
