   Absolutely the blandest food, heavily coved in sauce with no distinction between dishes. It's a tapas restaurant, never came by to clear off completed plates just kept moving to make room very unappetizing or enjoyable.

   Request low salting- a bit too much on squid, etc. everything is otherwise well flavored, presented well and tastes delicious! Eggplant and empanada were particularly good. The desserts are terrific. Loved the pear soaked in raspberry juice- the white chocolate in the center not necessary.

   Great tapas options. Very authentic and flavors were excellent. My two teenage girls loved it as well. That doesn’t happen often!

    This was our first visit to Tapas Barcelona, and it came on a good recommendation. The restaurant was hopping early on a Friday night, and our server (Clara) was attentive and helpful while we waited for our family members to join us. The Sopa del Dia, cream of asparagus, was smooth and tasty. The small, but functional wine menu offered enough options at reasonable prices to share with our dining party. The remaining dishes - from the patatas bravas to the lamb empanadilla were just okay, not bad, but nothing especially memorable. The menu isn't particularly inventive or authentic, and all the dishes arrived over-sauced. Too bad. We were hoping to find another tapas restaurant in the tradition of the recently closed Jaleo, which has always been a kind of gold standard for us. Tapas Barcelona is a decades-old staple in Evanston, but after experiencing restaurants like Jaleo, there wasn't a lot to return for anytime soon.
