So delicious. We had the omakase menu and it was on par with high-end sushi in Tokyo (where I lived for three years). Equally wonderful was the atmosphere and service, which were quiet and calm, truly a fine dining experience and much more elevated than any other restaurant in downtown Bellevue. All four of us were able to talk comfortably, and the pace of the meal was quietly attentive without feeling rushed.

The food and experience was very memorable. Each course was very well curated and of course delicious. The quality of the food and service was top tier. Chose to do the table omakase vs the bar so my date and I could talk. We both enjoyed all the courses, especially the toro- quality was amazing. Also added the oysters, which were also very good. Overall would definitely recommend it. And pricing was very reasonable too.

Phenomenal omakase! Both fish and non-fish courses were excellent, particularly the smoked items. Well-curated with attention to detail, great plating and presentation. We had front-row seats in view of the chefs at work, which was a real treat!

Food was excellent—I was absolutely stuffed. Great variety of fish. Some I liked, some I didn’t but that’s part of the experience. Some fish are tricky to pair different flavors with but chef did amazing bringing out the right flavors. We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff were so kind and accommodating. Umeshu made in-house was very sweet but on the rocks was perfect. I could live without the fried shrimp head but regardless the experience was absolutely wonderful, would come again.

should offer more a la carte items instead of omakase parking instructions - none but wish there's a good indoor hallway between restaurant and parking building behind we don't quite understand the idea nor significant of aging sashimi item service is a little inconsistent, at first was attentive, toward the end of meal, seem less attentive nigiri sushi has too much wasabi sake pairing menu seem to be limited option food doesn't have too much flare unlikely doesn't stand out vs. pricing efforts of providing something for our anniversary seem trying but not quite there

Always the best sushi in Seattle. The chef counter omakase is the only way to go. It’s by far the best in Seattle.

My second time at Takai by Kashiba, but this time I finally snagged the omakase counter and was served by Chef Jun Takai and his chefs. It was an incredible experience. I loved how the experience didn’t feel rushed and chef Jun explained the process / location / and type of marinades or weeks of each fish. 23 courses was a lot of food ($220 worth and extra pieces if you’re hungry) and I got full around the 18th course. Chef Takai also takes notice of his customers on what they like, what they don’t like and also can tell when you’re full. He noticed my friend and I getting full so he made our pieces with less rice which I appreciated so much so I can enjoy more pieces of fish. He was also very personable, as I mentioned I could speak a bit Japanese and can understand when he speaks Japanese. And he made conversation and was curious where I learned and I learned that he lived in Yokohama and that was just so awesome to learn. I definitely recommend snagging the counter top if you can as that experience is incredible. Highly recommend for a nice dinner / date night / girls night!

Great experience! It’s for a birthday celebration. Chef Jun was great serving us at the counter. The fish and crab were so fresh and delicious. Chef Shiro happened to be there and we were able to take a picture with him. So lucky!
