I feel like I got scammed and was the victim of a practical joke. Booked the $95 13-course omakase dinner based on amazing looking reels on Instagram that showed huge cuts of fish and special dishes like uni and toro. - waited more than one hour after being seated before receiving our first course (miso soup) - small cuts of fish on the nigiri (size of my thumb) - no uni or toro in sight - we were sitting at the sushi counter (which is also the bar) in front of the chef and he kept leaving to take breaks and drink 2.5+ hours after sitting down we finally left a completely empty restaurant, still hungry and in disbelief of what we just experienced. Pros: the waiter was very apologetic and did provide good service, including comping us sake. The food was overall decent but couldn’t make up for the bizarre experience.

EXCEPTIONAL!!! Came for dinner and drinks with two girlfriends and had a beautiful experience. Our server was amazing, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was divine! We loved the nigiri and the miso cod so much, and the ceviche and amberjack were delicious. Sake selection is on point too! This place is a hidden gem and I want to come back for omakase soon..

I would like to believe that this was just a one time fluke for this restaurant as the last time I died here was one of my best experiences at any restaurant in my life. The last time I was here, we did the Omakase experience and it was wonderful the food service noise level everything about the meal was great and worth the large price However, this last time that we went here, we did not do the experience and just decided to do the sashimi mini Omakase experience instead at the sushi bar however when we arrived for our reservation, we had to wait 45 minutes and we’re instructed that both a sushi chef and server had called out that evening and they were extremely short staffed. We were then sat at a normal table as they said that the experience we signed up for would take too long and it would be a very long while in between our meals. We then waited another 20 minutes for our drinks in which we had to remind our waiter, and he made them himself as apparently there was no bartender available or on staff. I am going to hold out. Hope that the next time I take my girlfriend here as this night was for our four year anniversary. It will be much better because I have always recommended the restaurant as the best possible sushi in SF. This last experience was the farthest from it and the only saving grace was that our server was trying so exceptionally hard because of how shortstaffed they were. it was very clear to us that none of what was happening was the servers fault and the only reason we did not leave was because of how exceptional our server was. I feel bad for the guy and how hard he works that night with how poor the experience was matched by the rest of the restaurant

I had high hopes but the service was slow, the food was mediocre and food delivered to the table slow and even missing items we had ordered. I tried it with friends for my birthday but we won’t be coming back.

Made a reservation but wasn't aware the dinner was omakase only $125 a person. The course itself was not bad, but only had a few standouts (crab risotto, cod) and everything else was average. The sushi rice especially was a little odd - super sticky and had an different texture and taste that didn't pair well with the fish

This is now our default sushi restaurant, especially after our 7-year-old daughter declared it her favorite restaurant. We tried the sushi tasting along with a variety of sushi from the a la carte menu, and everything was exceptional, there wasn't a single piece that we didn’t enjoy. As parents, we’re often cautious about bringing our daughter to nice sushi restaurants, as many don’t really cater to kids. But Alan and Yunus went above and beyond to make sure she felt welcomed and had a great experience. Alan even crafted a mocktail for her, which she absolutely loved. We’re already looking forward to our next visit, and our daughter is excited to try the omakase at the counter next time.

First time to dine there and will probably not return. Food was fine, portion was small for the price I paid for the unagi rice bowl. Service was slow, even though there were only about 3 tables of two-three tops. We were a table of four.
