Our New Orleans location opened in 1997 and has become a landmark in fine quality foods with a festive Mexican atmosphere. Superior’s authentic Tex-Mex food is made from scratch every day with only the freshest ingredients. Our tortillas are hand-rolled with care all day long. For added flavor, all of our meats are cooked over a mesquite grill. We are proud of what we make and how we prepare it. Superior Grill is “the place to be” for happy hour, birthdays, office parties, and large groups. In addition to our festive indoor dining room, we offer a memorable outdoor dining experience on our landscaped patio featuring beautiful flowers and one of the best views of St. Charles Avenue. Good times at superior grill. Food is pretty consistent. Ordered the tampequena steak dish med rare and it was served at well done temp. Still flavorful. The queso was a little off. Chunky. Don’t think they had warmed it enough.

This long standing venue does not live up to its past. The ambience is great but the food quality is just not there. Out of six, only one enjoyed their food without complaint, the ribs. I had the El Paso and the taco was dry, the enchilada was unimaginative beef (supposed to be chicken), the cheese enchilada purported to be covered in con carne lack flavor and topping. The chile relleno might have been a bell pepper, not sure. The exception was the guacamole which was very tasty. Other had crawfish enchilada, burritos, chimichanga and flautas. All were disappointed. Used to love coming but I can get better Mexican food at a dozen places. Nice ambience on the Avenue if that’s all you want. Service was slow and a little impatient with my 84 year old father.
