   We had a great Christmas dinner at Sullivan’s Steakhouse! The service was awesome and the ambience was clubby and comfortable. The NY strips with peppercorn sauce and the filet mignon with béarnaise sauce were cooked just right. We shared the Philly Steak Eggrolls, very good. But the bomb was the Peanut Butter Pie, just perfection!

   Ordered NY Strip medium rare, came out medium well/well done. They replaced with a medium rare rib eye. I kept it and brought the first one home for the dog. Ordered bread pudding and they brought out crème brûlée. They weren't on the top of their game tonight.

   We went for Xmas dinner and were excited to try it with our two adult daughters. We were greeted at our table by Mike who was so nice and enthusiastic. But when he went to help another table, another server came and tried to take our order. We told her we already had a server and she rudely said "oh no I do not think so. I will be handling this". It was clearly a miscommunication between them and host and when Mike returned he apologized and was lovely. She (forget her name) had an attitude for the remainder of our time. She seemingly forgot to put our appetizers order in so we waited forever to get them and only got them after we reminded her. Please note she did not seem too busy, and never apologized for anything. We waited so long for drinks, that my husband never bothered to order wine with his steak which is very unusual for him. She wasn't aware of menu items they were out of until after we ordered them. She forgot to bring the mashed potato and mac and cheese sides until I asked if we could have them b4 we finish our steaks. The spinach was not available that we ordered but she left it on our bill and when I asked to remove it she said she would, but again no apology for the oversight...more of kind of an attitude. We had high expectations as we spent over $600 (including 20% tip which we did cos we always tip at least that) for a table of 4. Had she been more sincere about her mistakes instead of making us feel awkward for asking, we would have given a much better tip on Christmas. The food was very good, although one steak was overcooked (we didn't complain). I would not go back based on how poor the service was. Usually in a high end steak house, a manager or at least host would stop by the table to see how we are, but nothing. Hosts didn't even say goodbye or thankyou when we left. If we had been at an Applebees or a more moderately priced, casual restaurant, the bad service might have been acceptable.

   Just the 2 of us dined at Sullivas for Christmad lunch. We both ordered filet mignon steaks, which were delicious. These were the best steaks we’ve had in years. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and seasoned. We also loved the loaded baked potato. Our reservation was at 12:15 and we were seated promptly. We were finished in an hour for our relaxing experience even though restaurant was packed. Checking out was quick and easy which does not happen in a lot of other Charlotte restaurants. The guy in the red jacket turned on the TV behind us to a pretty fireplace scene I was really glad there was no TVs showing sports or news channels.

   Open table indicated a Christmas Eve menu with wine pairings but when there we were told they didn’t have that. Service was slow. Steaks arrived warm but not hot. All requested medium but they were all at different doneness. Overall experience was disappointing. As someone else commented for the price point, Steak 48 or Del Fresco would be a better choice.

   Filet is not suppose to have large amounts of fat .. poor quality of meat .. served ice cold !
