Sullivan’s Quay (pronounced, “Key”) or “Sullie’s Quay,” as it is known locally, is one of the oldest settled parts of my home, County Cork. The word Quay is actually defined: A wharf formed towards the sea or at the side of a harbour for convenience of loading or unloading goods.

You will notice our dining room walls adorned with Murals of Architecture from the area of Sullivan’s Quay around the 19th century, when Jack Sullivan, whom the area is named after, patrolled the streets selling beer and wine to the local saloonkeepers. More recently this area has become renowned for its excellent cuisine and draws culinary adventurers from all around the world.

In the case of our own Sullivan’s Quay here in beautiful Port Washington, we hope you will come in to unload the worries of the world, while allowing us to provide you with a fine dining experience and the most pleasant service to be found anywhere beyond the Emerald Isle.

We’ve been going to Sullivan’s Quay for many years and this is the first time we’ve been disappointed. The table muffins were burnt. My fish and chips (which I’ve ordered many times in the past) was dry and tough, my wife’s chicken was tasteless and my grandson’s sliders were burnt. The sliders were remade. The only decent dish were my granddaughters chicken nuggets. So sad ☹️

We wanted a cozy setting tonight and we wanted to be able to catch some of the football games and this checked all of the boxes for us. We started with the Mexican street corn dip (probably one of the best bites I’ve ever had and what a generous portion!) we subbed out chips for veggies (stick with the chips if you can but nice to know there is an alternative if you need). I got the steak salad with the balsamic vinaigrette (such a great dressing, our waitress said their dressings are made in house, I absolutely love that! What a great personal touch). I got a side of mashed potatoes which were also very tasty, these are not the boring box potatoes. My husband got the roasted chicken which was a nice portion over veggie. I’m looking forward to our next meal!

Moved from the area and still miss this restaurant. Met up with old friends there and had a delicious meal. Did not feel rushed. Service timely.

The Iceberg Wedge was horrible they need to go some where and learn how to make it correctly. One was short cheese the other was missing dressing. They just slapped bacon on top of a piece of lettuce.
