Michelin Starred Stubborn Seed is the result of pairing unrelenting passion with an unapologetic approach. It aims to unearth cravings of the palate while constructing a reward in each bite. This philosophy takes honest ingredients and elevates them. At the helm is 2022 James Beard Award Semi-Finalist and Bravo’s Top Chef Season 13 Winner, Chef Jeremy Ford. In 2022, Stubborn Seed was awarded one Michelin star in the highly coveted inaugural Florida guide.


Stubborn Seed is a tasting menu only restaurant, with the option of a la carte service or the tasting menu at the bar. Reservations are available for table service and also available for the bar. Dress code strictly enforced as smart-casual. We are unable to accommodate tasting menus for guests following a vegetarian or vegan diet.

A cancellation fee of $50 per person will incur if cancelled within 24 hours of the reservation. On holidays and special occasions, cancellations fees will be $100 per person.

    Came here with my wife for our anniversary and it was not worth $500. 4 out of the 8 courses was just ok or not good at all. The doughnut was blah, the steak wagyu for the last course was chewy, the sea bass my wife’s favorite fish was basic and there was a vegetable appetizer that i’m not sure the name of that just wasn’t good. The waiter forgot my drink twice. He ended up giving it to me for free that I appreciated but didn’t even want anymore. You can go some where better for half the price.

    The food and service was outstanding. The food was very creative in flavors and presentation. The wine pairings were spot on and a very good bargain relative to most restaurant wine pairing options. Will definitely try to dine here again when in Miami.

    We were excited to try Stubborn Seed, having followed Chef Ford’s win on Top Chef, but unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. The service was the worst I’ve experienced in years, spanning from Michelin-starred restaurants to IHOPs. From the moment we sat at the bar, we were ignored—no welcome, no instructions. The website specifically advertises à la carte service at the bar, but it took another guest explaining the menu to us before I finally had to flag down the bartender. Her response? “Well, you don’t have to order anything.” When she did serve us, she splashed us with alcohol while making drinks, then took the cocktail menu from me when I asked her for advice on a drink selection. The ambiance was equally unpleasant, so we decided to order minimally—thankfully, because the food was a letdown. It felt like the gimmicks of high-end cuisine without understanding how to apply those techniques to make a dish better. •The ciabatta lacked richness and flavor, paired with an equally bland “feta.” •The gnudi was completely drowned in a bowl of overwhelming foam so you couldn't see what you were eating. The gnudi had the texture of raw dough and none of the delight of Ricotta. Half the ingredients listed on the menu were either not present or undetectable in the foam. •The chicken was the only dish we ordered that was conceptually excellent yet poorly executed. The over-salted skin coupled with a jus that had overreduced into a syrup made the dish a failure to the point that we couldn't even finish a single serving when shared between two people. With signs in the kitchen reading “86 Excuses” and “Enough is Never Enough”, this place felt like an episode of The Bear—but only in its stress and sadness. I didn’t see a single smile in the whole place by the staff or any of the patrons in the overexposed window booths. I’ve been to disappointing restaurants before, but this is the first time in years I’ve left to finish my meal elsewhere.

    Great elevated tasting menu. Impeccable service. The level of detail in each dish was admirable. I can’t imagine the prep list. We loved watching the kitchen working through the window.

    All in all had a great time I did bar seating and the server walked me through my 10 course menu tasting and couldn’t have been more friendly and knowledgeable. Highly suggest the bar I believe his name is Nick.

    The ambiance, music, service, drinks and food were all amazing. I left a note while reserving it was a birthday and the staff continued to wish my partner a happy birthday without needing to mention it while there. This meant a lot to me personally. The food and drink combinations and portions exceeded my expectations. It was all very good we left extremely satisfied.
