Strip House Speakeasy is located in the space next to the original Strip House in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village. Set in glamorous backdrop of the Roaring Twenties & Prohibition Era, 11 East 12th Street was one of the thousands of illegal speakeasies supplying NYC with Libations & Liberation. Its hidden connection to the room above - 13 East 12th Street - helped spark its success for when officers arrived with a search warrant in hand, they were only able to gain entrance to the physical address listed - ‘13 East’...not ‘11’.

Bar seating for dinner was a really bad experience. There were people trying to squeeze around me to get to the bartenders while I was eating a luxurious pricey steak and drinking expensive whiskey.

Amazing. Great food, great atmosphere, great service! It just feels like the place to be. I was here back in 2019 and it had the same exact vibe! Highly recommend. The noise level varied based on the time while there. We were there 7-11ish and it was very loud from 8:45ish-10:15ish with a fun-looking crowded bar area (great for people watching)… but honestly it all only added to the charm and cool speakeasy feeling of it all. Everything we ate was spectacular so even when it was louder we were so busy enjoying our food, drinks and conversation that it didn’t matter. The decor and the music are also wonderful. Oh and DEFINITELY get the chocolate cake! It’s 12 layers tall and out of this world. It was my bday and it was perfection. Love this place so very much!

Nice alternative to the main room, nice vibe. Service was good, our bone in rib eye was more firm than tender, more like a sirloin. Our friends liked their sea bass.

Loved the ambience but the menu is limited to only a few (very expensive) entrees. The food was good but overpriced in my view. We also felt rushed. The restaurant was not overly busy but the bussers kept hovering around our table, asking if we were done every 5 minutes or so. When you spent a lot on dinner, you expect to be allowed to relax and enjoy your meal.
