   Great food, drinks and live music. Nice and friendly staff who are very helpful. Easy online booking with a text reminder closer to the time (I booked 2-3 weeks in advance so it was handy). I also love that you can get points every time you go and you can redeem those points at any point for rewards. I already have enough points for £10 off my bill or a FREE Full English Breakfast, so I think I will redeem one of the two at my next visit.

   We pre booked a table for 4 people for lunch on 11/11 and stated on the booking form that one of the party had limited mobility so easy access would be essential. We arrived at the venue and were shown to a table at the far end of the restaurant which was accessed via a number of steps from the main entrance notwithstanding most of the tables were vacant. We ordered drinks and subsequently ordered our food. The quality of the food was extremely poor and we couldn’t wait to leave the venue having paid what we considered top price for mediocre food. We visit Newark occasionally to meet our friends and always had lunch at Strays when they were in their old premises on Middle Gate. Those premises were always busy and offered a really great ambiance for visitors. I suspect the owners having committed to the new venue think they ought to offer something rather more upmarket which is fine but unfortunately we will be looking for an alternative venue in the town from now on.

   Excellent evening, delicious pizza's, attentive staff and great music. Surprised it was so quiet for a Saturday night as it’s got such a good vibe 🙂

   Service was excellent, food was very good. A wider variety of options for lunch would be good - sandwiches and baked potatoes like Stray’s use to serve would be wonderful. Our experience was sadly overshadowed by the lack of parental control over the children at the next table.

   Music was great. Service could have been a bit more engaging and friendly. Food was good. Found the Tempranillo wine rather thin and astringent. Not sure I’d go again on a Sunday. Sunday lunch requires Sunday lunch roasts menu which isn’t on offer at the Ossington at the moment. Love having live music of real quality.

   We booked Strays because we wanted to hear some live Jazz music. When we arrived and asked where the music was we were told the band had cancelled that day which we were really disappointed about. One of our party is GF, when she ordered her clearly marked as GF starter from the menu she was informed that the meal would not actually be GF once it had been cooked! As it would be cooked in the same fryer as the non GF food. All in all a disappointing evening and certainly not the one we had been looking forward to.

    I never dine out these days, so any comment would be superfluous and irrelevant. But I attend all of Fiona Stein's Stray's gigs, having followed her local one for a decade or so, and last night was, as ever, a wonderful evening of 30s standards, sung beautifully by Fiona, and accompanied by a superb jazz guitarist, Pat (sorry, I forget his surname). Waitress service (of a couple of cans of Guinness) to my table was courteous and efficient, as as always.
