The oldest inn on the Isle of Syke. We are located on the shores of Loch Bay gifting us with beautiful views towards the Outer Hebrides. Offering simple and honest dishes using local ingredients that well suit everyone's taste - especially the seafood enthusiast. Local seafood straight from the Loch - some of the world's finest!
Traditional and modern interiors with a garden that offers the Loch views. Log fires and music. Welcoming hospitality - ye ole door is always open. Food is the ingredient that binds us all together and no road is too long for good company. Dogs and children welcome.

This gorgeous, homely, warm, welcoming pub had delicious, fresh and locally sourced meals, and friendly, accommodating service. The ride to get there is a bit adventurous (beware potholes!) but definitely worth it!

A lovely old inn but food was really disappointing. The quality was very poor. The roast beef was inedible. The veg poorly cooked. The mussels were very nice in the creamy sauce but the bread served was just a sliced baguette not the ‘crusty bread’ described and expected. The venison pie was very nice but the veg nothing special. Overall the inn is very pricey for not very good food. We are happy to pay a higher price for quality, home cooked food. VERY disappointing. The staff did give us a discount for the inedible roast beef which was good. The Stein Inn wasn’t for us but may be for you. Thank you.

Run out of the most appealing items on the menu by 7.10pm using the weather as an excuse when as non locals we had traversed the island for two days in the rain. Lazy and inept management, poor communication and utterly disappointing. Fly to Inverness, drive to the Isle of Skye and then one hour round trip on the island to get to the venue and you don’t have food? We had a reservation! Anyone with a microcosm of hospitality training and intelligence would have called us (phone number clearly in the booking) and said if they were running out of food. I think more likely complete laziness and incompetence in the kitchen. All the effort to get there for a bowl of chips and a microwave sticky toffee pudding. Completely wretched. Shame on you.

The menu was let down by the lack of availability of what must have been all the favourites The soup starter had been heated up in a volcano but had somehow maintained an amazing taste. The goats cheese Bon Bon was an absolute taste sensation and although there was only on Bon Bon it was presented beautifully. After some disappointment with the selection and availability for the main courses, venison mince and potatoes and langoustine and chips was presented. Both mains were excellent. Sticky toffee pudding is a must to finish off the meal. The new management are working hard to get everything right and will have the Inn running brilliantly very soon.
