   So happy that Star Noodle is back with its original menu. This is hands down the best restaurant on Maui and an absolute must for any visit.

   We waited over 12 minutes at our table before our server approached us. She was very sweet and great afterwards. The eggplant and butterfish were excellent dishes and perfect to share for two people. The scallops and shrimp (2 each)with rice noodles tasted good, but we would have preferred actual flat rice noodles rather than round mounds that looked like a scallop. The octopus was a bit overcooked and did not have a lot of flavor.

   Could not have been better. Good to see Salvatore again. We come to Maui for one week every other year, and must always visit Star Noodle once if not twice.

   This was our second visit in 3 days. We changed our reservation time, and were seated at a table near the kitchen. The host noticed our disappointment , and moved us to a table to watch the sunset. We tried different dishes, and loved them. The staff is friendly and efficient. A great evening!

   Food was excellent, as always. First time to the new location. Was just opening when we were here in May. Tried the Asian short rib (new on the menu). Very tender and tasty. Miso butterfish never disappoints. Star Udon is now shareable. Smaller portion on the Look Moore Funn, but still delicious. Singapore noodles also very good. Good portion size. We got there early. Parking was not a problem, but shared with Aloha Mixed Plate. Rocking chairs rocked. Salvador was excellent. If you have never been, or if you have, a must stop if in the area.

   Really disappointed. Going to Star Noodle was always the dining highlight of our Maui trips… we’ve been going there for years starting in their first location up the hill from La Haina Gateway Mall. It always felt trendy, fun and new. This new location with bright lights and none of the pizzazz of the other 2 locations has a mediocre common feel nothing special as before. The service is still good, as are the cocktails. The Ginger Ninja is still great. My husband was very disappointed in the beer selection ( no IPA) and when he ordered wine it was a very stingy pour. The miso butterfish and shrimp tempura were excellent as always but the eggplant was slimy and unappetizing and the garlic noodles were both dry and oily. This used to be a favorite restaurant and now I doubt well return.

    Great ambiance! We felt a little rushed though. We couldn’t enjoy the flavors of the Sharable plates when our hot broth noodle dishes were served at the same time. Overall, great flavors and tastes!
