The magnificent Stamford Park Homestead was built in 1882 by the entrepreneurial Row family as a Gentleman’s Residence. After many years of neglect, the homestead and six acres of grounds have been aesthetically restored, allowing it to once again become the ‘Jewel in Knox City’.

Stamford Parks current custodians, have waved their ‘whimsical’ magic of both design and true hospitality over the beautiful estate and it is now a stunning property serving the public for what it was originally intended – a place to gather, meet, entertain and unwind.

Walking in a lovely venue but I feel it has become too big too soon. Food was pleasant but could have been better presented for the price. My husband and I had the bruschetta, could have added basil for flavour, for starters followed by duck this could have looked better presented, then tiramisu and lemon tart which I would say was not made on site. I ordered a cafe lait and enquired as to when it was coming with a reply did I really want it. I didn't want to put them to any trouble.

A hidden gem in Rowville. We booked the Senes Flamenco show AND IT WAS FREE!!! For the normal cost of a meal the Homestead puts on great shows to enjoy while you eat. They utilise the function room for this treat so you need specifically book the event - easy to do on the website. Other indoor or outdoor options are available. Food and drinks were amazing. Recommendations for the Black Pie (pizza), Lime, Sods and bitters drink and the mashed potato is divine.

Great food and very good service. I would like to see a bigger range of desserts offered. The Flamenco night wasn’t as good as their other entertaining evenings. However others may have enjoyed it. We have been to the Homestead several times and it is a lovely venue with excellent staff and food. Definitely recommend a visit.

The music coming from another room was extremely loud. We could barely hear each other speak! It was suppose to be afternoon tea, but a nightclub. On our high tea tower what was referred to as sandwiches was filling on baguette/bread stick. A little harder to eat. Probably the worst scone I’ve ever eaten and was served with fake cream, which just melted in to some watery mess as soon as it hit the “scone”. Tea in a pot was included in the price but not a black coffee. I have never been to a high tea where you couldn’t substitute a coffee for the tea. All in all a pretty average experience.

No traditional sandwiches. The scones were horrible. Small and one didn't seemed cooked. Felt they weren't fresh and heated in the microwave. They were small and horrible and only having two was unacceptable. The value was pathetic, the music was loud from the other room, the service was poor. Really disappointing. The tea wasn't hot either.

From the moment you sit down you were greeted with a friendly waitress and can’t say enough about Chantal who quickly took our orders and any other requests too. She made everyone feel like she was part of our family with good humour too. My only criticism was of the noise factor as we were seated near two large groups but the round table helped and turning the noise down was better too. The food we all had which was ten of us was outstanding and the wonderful old building was special to dine in. Will return for another occasion soon!

Xmas catchup with 11 friends in total. Very noisy. Service was extremely slow. Quality of food very average. Beers were lukewarm. Chicken parma- chicken was tough, chips & chicken also lukewarm. Pasta with seafood and Bouillabaisse was without substance. Re latter a lot of liquid, negligible seafood and a slice of bread. Worth $40- not at all. Ordered a negroni in place of dessert and did not arrive, yet was charged for. Positive, pizza ordered by one of my guests was amazing. All in all, below average night. I'm sorry to say that we won't be rushing back.

very disappointing in food price and quality - $40 for the bouillabaisse with bugger all seafood in it was a disgrace along with 4 prawns for $37 bucks - got my money once will never set foot in the palace ever again.

This was my second visit here in the past two months. It’s a gorgeous old homestead with lots of different spaces inside and out to eat. The food is delicious and great value for money. Today was very busy and the staff were a bit stretched, but the standard of service was still good. I want to give a special mention to Jack. He goes out of his way to make everyone at the table feel comfortable. His knowledge and advice is invaluable and his attention really adds to the whole experience. I will definitely be going back for another visit.

We had a wonderful time however upon checking out we were met with a very rude staff member taking payment. Whilst our group was understanding of the split bill situation this staff member clearly could not handle a stressful situation as he took his bad mood out on myself and my colleagues and it was honestly such a bad end to our Christmas lunch. When I went to pay, I had been informed by another member of our group that your staff were now allowing split bills, so we lined up patiently, unfortunately I was split in line from my group by another customer. Unknowing that this would cause such a issue for your staff member I approached him very kindly and asked to pay for my meal, I was met with an abruptly rude response stating we don’t split by item, just tell me how much you want to pay, this staff member was so rude I honestly almost snapped at him but I held my composure and continued to be kind as it is the season, I walked off after paying being upset by the experience to then hear what he was saying to the customer behind me explaining hat since he had started our groups order he had to complete it all (not true as we had a colleague pay separately as stated above) the customer must have become disgruntled by the news as your staff member then chuckled at him, looked at our group, looked back at said customer, rolled his eyes and said “I know” - this experience was quite a disappointing end to a wonderful lunch and put a sour taste for our whole group. My manager, disappointed with the service, ended up just paying for the whole table to save her staff from having anymore interactions with this man. Whilst we understand it is a busy time of year, none of our group was rude towards your staff member, he was not thorough in his explanation, was very rude and made our lunch end on a sour note. Whilst disappointing, everything other than that was wonderful. That staff member may need some training in customer service and how to interact appropriately.
