Delicious food and amazing cocktails. We would definitely come back and we would recommend to everyone. We went for Valentine’s set menu. All staff were very friendly and live music changed our experience to exceptional.

The lunch menu is amazing value but we opted for a la carte to have the venison. It was spectacularly good. Will be back!

Had a fantastic lunch today! Upon booking I requested a warm comfortable table for my 90 year old friend & we were greeted with a lovely reserved table by the fire & a cushion was provided for my elderly friend! Food was fantastic & very good value on the lunchtime offer! Service was impeccable! Thank you so much to all! My elderly friend had a wonderful time! 🙏🥰 We shall return soon! x

Oh - NOT-so "gastro"! Too many over-rated reviews make this place think it is better than it is. Maybe the cooking standards are different at other times of the week but we experienced a SERIOUSLY DISAPPOINTING Sunday Lunch. A rather soulless interior - but, hey plenty of "designer" features - epitomised by PLASTIC lavender on the tables. Overpriced drinks, under-par quality of food ingredients and lackadaisy customer care. Limited Sunday Lunch menu options: roast beef / roast pork or butternut - no fish option? The Starter: bland, not very well seasoned and a rather small portion. The Main course : oversized Yorkshire pudding was tasty, the vegetables were excellent but sadly, the roast beef was an ALL time LOW: meat one could barely cut, let alone eat. (Looking around the room there were plenty of others wrestling to chop / chew the meat). Not a top of the range cut of meat in the first place - very disappointing for a "country village" pub/eatery that bills itself as a "gastro"-pub. One might expect a quality local farm product... We were offered horseradish sauce to go with the meal ... this came in a tiny ramekin and had barely two teaspoons of sauce for two. Customer care ???? We voiced our disappointment and concerns to the waitress when asked if everything was OK - our comments appeared to get relayed to a more senior member of the team (at least the waitress wearing a jacket who appeared to be more senior) . . . and then our feedback promptly fell off the edge of a cliff. In fact most members of staff seemed rather more focused on tapping things into the till than actually engaging with customers. No further acknowledgement of what we had said, no come-back, no apology from a "manager" . Instead the most junior waitress (school-leaver?) was tasked to bring us our bill ... all items charged @ FULL price. WOW! Even a small token reduction to acknowledge our poor experience might have gone some way to redeem the situation.

With live music playing (Alex Hart was wonderful), the warm, welcoming atmosphere, friendly service - attentive but not overly so - and a delicious meal, we all hugely enjoyed our evening. Thank you to the team at the St Tudy Inn!
