We had a fantastic Sunday meal here and made use of the excellent kidstable activity. The service was brilliant and the food was delicious. The best meat in a roast we’ve had out in a while!

Service was a bit chaotic especially when delivering food on the table . Our table was not clean from dirty plate from starters and empty glasses. Food was served we didn’t have fresh cutlery’s, by the time new cutlery arrived , food was cold , no sauces offered, mint sauce and horseradish, we had to request and took ages to arrive, no salt and pepper on tables. Table of 8 and only one gravy offered , we requested another one by the time it arrived food was cold. Food was taste , but service was a bit of a letting down for the actual meal. After that it was okay…

Superb meal for a freezing January night- exciting Spanish-inspired menu and wonderful cooking - great wine list too (including the massively appreciated separation of natural and normal wine). Suckling lamb particularly great. Lovely staff, lovely space, log fire... will be back soon!

Fabulous food, fabulous service. One issue. The room was freezing! Ok it was -3 outside and it’s a big dining room with a high ceiling. We asked the delightful waiter and he said, in essence, there’s nothing we can do about it. So we put in our coats and enjoyed the excellent food as best we could!

Lovely staff but slow. Attribute to holiday period. Had to ask for a couple of items multiple times. Delicious Sunday roasts will def be back!

Have to agree with earlier reviews that St John's is not what it used to be. We have been coming here for many years but it has changed since under different management. There no longer is a range of reasonably prices choices on the menu. Also annoyingly had to pay extra for accompaniments which would normally expect with a high price main meal. Dips for starters served with no bread to dip with £5 extra for three slices of bread when there was 4 of us. Service not great. Arrived 15 minutes early for table which was ready and were told to wait in the bar even though the place was half empty.
