   You can always count on an excellent martini from expert bartenders! Interesting elevated food menu. Great atmosphere. Best around the area!

   Always one of our go to places. Always great food and service. Not many left like this. Would definitely recommend they place a limit/create a policy on how long one can sit at the table after eating/checking out (~10-15 minutes) OR reduce the number of reservations they take. On several occasions we’ve had to wait 20 minutes or longer to get our reserved table (one time gave up and just sat at the much louder bar) due to other earlier parties checking out but just sitting and talking. We were told by staff that they don’t have a policy posted on how long one can sit after a meal. We’ve travelled extensively in Europe where one has to ask to get their bill to check out - they let you sit as long as you’d like - yet never had such a long wait for our table after it’s scheduled time. Something to learn from EU restaurants or instill a policy. We are becoming a bit gun shy about reserving a table here given our frequent experience as a couple. They seem to seat later parties without issue - just our observation, and experience when we’ve had larger parties with reservations booked there.

   My party of 6 arrived 10 minutes early for a 6:30 reservation and we were not seated until closer to 7:00. This should have been our first indication. The hostess was dressed very poorly for a modestly priced restaurant-jeans, white tennis shoes and oversized sweater. Remember owners that they are your first impression. Once seated the server arrived promptly to take our beverage orders however she did not return for approx 20 minutes with our drinks. Our second indication of how the night was going to go. We ordered 3 appetizers (Calamari, Salmon Stuffed Mushrooms and Shishito Peppers) all of which arrived promptly and were very good. The only positive about this restaurant. Our party ordered the following -two steaks cooked fine (med-rare) but no seasoning or flavor, same with the soup of the day-tasteless, a bone in pork chop-VERY TOUGH, not what you would expect for $28!, a salad and fish tacos and a burger, The fish tacos and the salad were the only good choices and those can be found at a lot of other restaurants at better prices for the same quality. The service was fair! Not worth your time or money.

   We really enjoyed our dining experience at Square 22. The food was delicious! The French onion soup flatbread appetizer was excellent and we both had the bourbon braised short rib which was very good. The service was excellent and we also enjoyed the dining atmosphere. The decor was very pretty and the fireplace was relaxing. We will definitely be back!
