Sorghum & Salt gets everything right. The space is quiet, warm, and well-designed—inviting without pretense. Service was exceptional: our server was attentive with just the right touch of wit and personality. Each dish showcased a single star ingredient—cauliflower, scallop, fennel—elevated by unexpected yet balanced pairings. Think bold sauces, like a spicy kimchi or a sumac yogurt (maybe even a mole—hard to say, but it worked). Every plate felt composed, clean, and creative. We'll absolutely be back—and recommending it widely.

It’s one of our favorite restaurants to eat when we’re in Charleston. “Phenomenal menu and never disappoints”… from my wife.

We ate here 4 years and ago, and we decided that we must go back again when we returned to Charleston. Absolutely amazing menu with beautiful presentation and most unusual flavors/combinations. The locally sourced ricotta was a great start and we followed that with the "fish of the day" (a flavorful steelhead) and gnocchi with mushrooms. We also tried the cauliflower with curry and an unusually seasoned acorn squash. No room for dessert this time but the menu for the spring had many great choices. Foodies, vegetarians, and vegans must try this unassuming place with great wines, beers, and even a hard kombucha.

Very cozy, eclectic atmosphere with great music! Menu is very abstract, only shows a few ingredients in each dish, could use a bit more description on how prepared. A bit pricey for what you get, but the flavors are so unique and just delicious! Will be back when they relocate to their new, larger location. Hope that doesn't change the vibe🤞🏻

This small restaurant is tucked into a Charleston neighborhood where you might miss it because of its low key appearance. It almost felt like a dinner party at a friend's house. The menu is mostly shareable tapas. Our party of four shared gem lettuce, focaccia, gnocchi and flounder. Everything was delicious!
