   Amanda was our server and she did a terrific job! The food menu is somewhat limited, but everything thing we ordered was delicious. The food is of outstanding quality and service was impeccable. The ambiance was so-so, and this is the first restaurant I’ve been to where they scan you with a wand, like the TSA, before you enter (?). The price was decent for 6 people and a bottle of wine: $600. I’d like to maybe go there in the summer to take advantage of the water view when daylight lasts well into the 8PM hour.

   We had heard that this restaurant has a serious service issue but decided to try it anyway. We had tickets to the Orchestra; this is a delightful setting for dinner. However, we were confused upon entry and never really had the fine dining experience we sought and paid for. When we checked in, the person at the desk told us to wait for his “runner.”  A restaurant employee arrived to escort us in the elevator, and we asked if they were a runner. The answer was, “No, I am a host.” Interesting way to start! The waitperson was more than friendly, described the specials, and took the order. When the bread, an a la carte menu item, arrived, we were told there would be more when it was finished baking. More never arrived, and when we asked for it, we were notified we wouldn’t be charged since it was still rising. There were four members of our group, and one was served dinner, and the rest of us waited at least ten minutes for the meals. The manager explained that the meals were accidentally ordered on different tickets and we would be comped desserts. The meals—scallops, osso buco and a special monkfish were good, but not great. To partake in our comped desserts, we arrived at our orchestra seats within a minute of the start time. Two hours should be enough for dinner, especially since the management must realize that most patrons attend the orchestra. This experience was disappointing—good food, but not a pleasurable dining experience.

   One star taken off due to ineffeciency of hosting/seating procedure. Only one hostess initially taking one party up at a time on the elevator. 10 minute wait to get seated.

   The space is beautiful, the food was delicious and the service was exceptional. The only downside was the ambiance…the lighting is too bright for such an upscale spot so hoping they can dim those as it would make a difference

   Had magnificent dining experience. St.Petersburg has really stepped up their game and going to the symphony afterwards really made for a wonderful culturally enriching night.

   I requested a nice sitting area, (I made the reservation almost 2 months in advance) because we were going to celebrate our wedding anniversary but we got a table right by the bathroom and the server did not know about the celebration We’ve been other places and the service and concerns were perfectly attended 👎🏾👎🏾

   Our server Justin made our experience at Sonata perfect. It was our first time there and we will return. The food was amazing and there were people there to grab a bite before the show and diners like us having a regular dinner off the main menu. Definitely worth a try.

    Our server, Olivia, was excellent. The view was beautiful. Unfortunately, our food was mediocre and pricey. I don’t mind paying money for good food, but I paid a lot for meh food. Oysters were tiny and drowning in butter, ribeye was overcooked, and the burnt ends were also drowning in some sweet sauce. We enjoyed our drinks and the service, but would not have a meal there again.
