I had an amazing experience. The service was amazing. From the valet team, to the check-in staff, to the bar staff, to the servers. 10/10 across the board. The food was delicious. My cup was never empty. The live music was great.

First of all, the service was great! I’m a foodie and I’m open to trying many different types of food but the menu was a little odd. I ordered the Duck Confit & added the Fingerling Potatoes, all of which was delicious. I also ordered the Mighty River cocktail & it was delicious as well. However, some of the items on Somerville’s menu are imaginative but not in a good way. One of my guest ordered the fried chicken sliders that comes with caviar, crème fraiche & honey mustard (a little odd but interesting combination. Since the person is allergic to most seafood, it was ordered without the caviar. I would’ve liked to try one with caviar but the restaurant was willing to put the caviar on the side🫤. I usually have a serious sweet tooth, but the combination of foods & flavors on their dessert menu are off-putting. We tried/shared the Profiteroles & it was just ok, not worthy of reordering. Will I return to Somerville? Hmmm🤔

Beautifully put together space! Ambiance is fantastic with live band. Server (Hasan) was great, very attentive and engaging! Oysters were five star! Suggestions: Get purse hangers in the women’s bathroom stalls. Reduce the cost of valet.

Somerville was incredible! We were lucky to snag a reservation within their first month of opening. They offer valet ($15), though street parking seems pretty accessible. They have two lines at the front door— one for walk-ins (it looked like people waiting outside a club) and one for reservations. The inside is beautiful, pictures don’t do it justice! One thing to note: we noticed it’s not very accommodating to groups larger than 6 — we saw a group of 7 in a booth and they looked pretty squished. If you’re there for a date night or a smaller group, then seating shouldn’t be a problem. The food was phenomenal. All dishes were great, but I highly recommend the Manjari Torte dessert! It is hands-down one of the best desserts I’ve ever had!! We can’t wait for reservations to open up again so that we can go back! Somerville is one of a kind and such a great addition to the neighborhood.

Wasn’t the best experience. Hopefully, the service will be better next year. Hosted- was great with wait time and seating Seated - crumbs all over the seat from previous guests. Service- waited 24 minutes to place my order without any apologies for the long wait time. Food- since it was late I ordered the “salmon” with a side of mashed potato with gravy. - salmon tasted like it was heated up in a microwave( gummy) - The mashed potatoes were semi-cold cold lacked any flavor. I would have ordered more from the menu but my experience up to that point had been so terrible, that I just wanted the check, which took another 15 minutes to receive, and get home.

Given that Somerville is a new restaurant, it seems they might still have some kinks to work out. We arrived promptly for our 715 reservation and the representatives at the outside asked us to wait inside the restaurant where someone would find us when our table was ready. The interior is beautiful. Vast with high vaulted ceilings, dark eclectic mood lighting and honey colored wood throughout. We stood near the bar, watching the piano and bass players having a jazz jam session. They seemed to sync well and truly enjoy playing together. Tables were full, and we wondered how they would know who or where we were.when our table was ready. We wondered for about 40 minutes and then we're finally seated at a nice table in the back. The service was professional and cordial, but not particularly friendly. We ordered oysters, brussels sprouts, and truffle fries. Our entrees included two burgers, halibut and salmon. No one was in a drinking mood, and we had a bottle of sparkling water for the table. The food was good, albeit a little pricey. The total nut was about $230. It was tasty, but maybe not worth the wait or the lukewarm service. I hope that this is a function of their newness and not permanent. I don't know if or when I will return. I really wanted to like the place.

✍🏾 Honest Review as someone who’s worked in semi-fine dining,💰dropped $380 tab before tip but want to support our community and the culture: DEFINITELY have some critical kinks to work out. Space is top notch but having a few more weeks of friends and family before opening up to public was deeply needed. Our rez was 6:45 and we didn’t get outta there till 10. (Not surprised some people never got sat and had to linger at the bar 🥴) Food was great but items were sold out already by 7:15; like the lasagna and crazily wines by the glass 😬. If you’re going to have share, firsts, entrees & dessert ⏰TIMING IS CRITICAL⏰. Especially if servers and kitchen can’t handle being slammed. Our group of 4 caught up while looking over the menu. ⏰It took 10 minutes for our server to come over. 20 mins to get our drinks then another 15 before server came back for our order. 20 to get our apps With 30 minutes for the kitchen to get out each course.⏰ We’re foodies, so we order everything; 7 items in total. We’re not lingerers either especially with other reservations waiting for their slot. But don’t want everything dropped at once just to get cold. So we asked our server to course it out. If you’re median dish price is $40 and $18-20 for cocktails its justified. Be wary. 🐟 The $36 King Salmon is TINY🐟 Appeared to be 6oz or less 😑. Looked crazy next to our huge lamb shanks and burger. Also, We’re not well done salmon people but if you are - ask for it. We’ll be back because it’s beautiful and want to support the culture but probably just sit at the bar for a drink, a bite, and bounce.

I visited here for the first time Monday evening. The atmosphere was pleasant and reminiscent of early supper clubs. Our seating was supposed to be at 8:45, but it was nearly 1/2 hour before we were finally seated. Not a deal breaker but it was already late when we arrived. My party ordered the fried chicken sliders with cavior. It ok but chicken paired with fish eggs... I think not. I ordered the bone in New York steak and my wife had the petite fillet 6oz, and our guest ordered salmon. Her salmon was grossly under cooked and the fillet texture was literally cow leather and totally impossible to enjoy. Our sides were mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Our mac was palletable but unfortunately, our mashed potatoes were a none starter. The consistency was loose not firm and lacked any flavor thereof. My wife had been reading Sommervilles reviews and customers spoke highly about the collard lasagna but, when we inquired about it's availability we were disappointed that it was sold out. It's a popular dish but unfortunately, not one that we could sample. For such a pricey menu and a limited selection of table fare one would expect far better than what we received. My wife plans to return just to sample the lasagna. I 'll pass.
