Great for creative cocktails

We boast a lively and friendly atmosphere, have a beautiful garden, a modern and stylish bar lounge and a warm and inviting dining area.

On arrival we were met by a fierce girl who had no trace of my 27th August booking. She kept repeating " no booking - no table" and didn't recognise your website. She told us it was a scam website. We demanded to see the manager and I showed him my booking and reminder received on my phone the previous day. We were eventually given a table in the garden. It was very cold and myself and my guest are retired ladies. Then we were given a recently vacated table indoors and the fierce girl said we had an hour before the next customers needed the table. I ordered our food at 1 .15pm but after several enquiries with the very young staff it did not arrive until 2pm. We were not the only customers who complained about the delay in the food. At no time was there an apology or even the offer of a complimentary drink, only suspicion about our booking . Needless to say we will never give our custom to the Slug & Lettuce in Bath. We had travelled a long distance to visit Bath Christmas market and there was no alternative place to eat on such a busy day.

We were refused entry for dinner as one of our party was 17. We were not advised that there was a policy not to serve dinner to anyone under the age of 18 at 8pm or later.

We booked our table for 7pm and on arrival was informed that we would have to leave by 8pm as both my children are under 18. This was not made aware to us at the time of booking. We were seated and we felt we could make it work for us but whilst trying to use the online ordering service the steak was unavailable and we couldn’t remove it from the order. Whilst trying to rectify this and change our order the time was ticking by and it was now 7.15pm which left us no real time to enjoy our evening. This in turn made our night go from bad to worse as we decided to leave and attempt to find somewhere else to eat, which in the current climate was very challenging. In future for online bookings you should make it very clear if you have time restrictions for children visiting your establishments. I won’t be rushing to book again.

We had a horrible time. I have left a review on trip advisor and its not a good one. We will NOT be returning there ever again.

Very fetching ambience and good music. However we had booked a table but there was no reception no we had to hint around for someone to show us to our reserved table. Food and service was spot on except the nachos in the sharing platter were a bit basic. Overall very good and will recommend.
