We’ve been coming to Slay Italian for several years as a tradition for one of our birthdays. We decided this would be our last year. The food is goodish but not great, with some dishes (flat iron steak, osso buco) being really sub-par. The service is always very good, but that alone is not enough to warrant our return. The straw that breaks the camel’s back is the wine list. The list is populated heavily by the Slay brand, with the one Chardonnay offered being $125. The price points of the wines do not match the quality of the food. With so many good Italian places nearby, e.g. Bottle Inn Hermosa and Di Roma Torrance, we will be scratching Slay Italian off our list.

This is an amazing restaurant. The food choices and quality, the service and the ambience are all divine. Was able to show it off with my out of town guests who loved it. Location is great too in the heart of Manhattan Beach shopping area and only couple blocks from the pier.

We always sit outside because of the weather this time we asked inside. Is too noise. Impossible to talk. We asked twice if they could put the volume a little lower but nothing happened and the music was not appropriate for the local. We will think next time before to go but inside, unfortunately was the last time.

Friday night, we had reservations, very crowded. Jacob, the manager runs a tight ship. Since we had to wait to be seated, he sat us at an outdoor table and had his staff take care of us until our table was ready. Great dining experience.
