Food is always amazing very slow service. The restaurant has no ambience. Portions are sizes are smaller than normal. Paying $37.00 for a filet mignon kebab that was over cooked was not good.

Last month we tried a restaurant that has been on our radar for a while. We heard a lot of great reviews about Simit and since Mediterranean is one of our favorite types of cuisines, we finally made reservations. Our only complaint now is, “Why did we wait so long!!”. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem because it is tucked away on the side of a strip mall on the corner of Airport Pulling Rd and Horseshoe Dr. N. However, don’t let the location turn you off, you will feel warm and welcomed from the moment you step inside. What the restaurant might lack in atmosphere it more than makes up for in hospitality! The food is the star of the show here and even the servers get involved; one server was proud to tell us he made the complementary olive tapenade starter (which was delicious). The menu is a blend of both Turkish and Macedonian cuisines with a generous number of selections. We had a hard time deciding so we decided to share several of their small dishes and skip the main plates. We shared hummus, Macedonian pinjur & feta, falafel, calamari with squid ink rice, shrimp tava and ended with chocolate baklava. The only dish we would not order again was the calamari but everything else was amazing! If you go, the shrimp tava is a must try! We can’t wait to go back and try a couple of the main dishes.

Delicious food along with attentive service. The music was a bit too loud for a basically empty restaurant

We have been wanting to try Simit for a while. When we saw them listed on the Sizzle fundraising list with a $39 three-course menue and made a reservation for Friday evening. The restaurant wasn't full, but I imagine you will definitely need a reservation during Season. Our server Beko was very attentive. We started with a Cheese Pide and Falafel. For some reason we were expecting smaller sized portions because of the special, but both were full size appetizers, as was the Sultan's Delight braised lamb entree which we chose (there is an upcharge of $10 for that entree, and $5 for the pide, which we both felt were well worth it.) Simit has an interesting wine list wits domestic and international, primarily Balkan, wines. We chose a Macedonian cab blend which was very good with the delicious starters and the lamb mains. Thank God the dessert portions are a little smaller because we were pretty full by the time they came, one pistachio and one chocolate baklava. You will find yourself amazed by the wonderful aromas coming from the kitchen, and you will follow the waiters as they bring food to other guests, trying to guess what delicious dish just passed you, and what you will try on your next visit. We've eaten at many great Mediterranean restaurants, and Simit is one of the best, and not just among those in SW Florida. We will definitely be back, and soon.

Exemplary service with thoughtful details and fresh, flavorful ingredients presented with a flair. As this was our second time dining here, I was delighted to find the same entree I had ordered previously was just as delicious as the first time.
