Silver Dove Afternoon Tea is a full service tearoom in Downtown Boston specializing in English style afternoon tea service. Steps from Government Center and the Freedom Trail, an experience at Silver Dove includes a pot of tea and a curated selection of finger foods. The food is a set menu and fixed price consisting of a variety of finger sandwiches, savory canapés, cakes, scones, macarons and other pastries which rotate seasonally.

We offer 90 minute reservations for afternoon tea Wednesday through Sunday. Reservations are available up to six weeks in advance. We can accommodate parties of up to six guests on weekends, and parties of up to twelve guests Wednesday through Friday.

We serve a wide selection of teas and herbal infusions from around the world and of various styles. We also provide a selection of craft cocktails and mocktails, as well as sparkling and still wines.

Our kitchen is completely gluten free (and oat free). We are independently owned and operated.

A delightful experience. Lots of effort to make it an authentic, British style afternoon tea with delicious tea options, fancy sandwiches and scones and sweets. Bravo.

I will always recommend to anyone wanting a traditional afternoon tea in Boston. Many wonderful tea choices with yummy tea time treats. The service is top-notch and knowledgeable. Will be back!

Creative, delicious high tea with nice seasonal flavors. We also liked that everything was gluten-free. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Although there wasn’t a tablecloth, which I missed, the place settings were elegant and included customized teapots with clever brewing inserts. Overall, we’re eager to return.

Food was good. Tea choices were plenty. I had the English Breakfast which was very good. The desserts weren’t my favorite. Lovely setting. I hope to go back.

For my Celiac daughter, the fact that the whole menu is gluten free is a huge gift to her. The fact that the food is delicious even if you're NOT gluten free is a huge gift to everyone. In addition to that, the place is lovely - exactly what you would imagine and hope a tea restaurant would be - and all of the servers are attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. They apparently change their menu seasonally and we expect to go back every season!
