Food was bland, greasy, and not fresh. Very disappointed especially for the amount we paid. Our experience began with tables that were so close together, I was touching the lady behind me. We ordered the bruschetta as our appetizer and the bread was extremely stale. Our main courses were the filet mignon and the seared salmon. The filet mignon was way undercooked and had no flavor at all. The seared salmon was very greasy as well as the vegetables. The server noticed we did not enjoy the appetizer (bruschetta) and filet mignon as it was left on the plates. After explaining the reason there was no effort to better our experience. They charged a service charge with an automatic 20% gratuity, even though it was dinner for two. Overall, I don’t recommend to anyone. This was our first time here and after all this we unfortunately won’t be returning. Don’t trust the photos - they’re deceiving.

I booked this reservation more than 24hrs in advance to enjoy dinner before seeing a play at the pioneer theater. I show up, and they’re closed! No note on the door stating there is an emergency, or closed for the Super Bowl. They didn’t shut down their open table reservations or call/email me to let me know they were closed. Luckily a nearby restaurant had a high top in the bar area and when I thanked them for squeezing us in and told them what happened they said “I’m not surprised they are very inconsistent.” Not a good look for a restaurant.

Great food variety. Not your usual steak or Italian. Nice variety of small plates and entrees. Excellent friendly service.

We enjoyed our small plates and the food was very good. The poke was very sparse, mostly wontons, favorite was the beef tips with spaetzle. Dessert was very good too.

Had not visited Sierra Street for some time and enjoyed previous visits. Came in for a light dinner before a Pioneer performance. Not many customers in the restaurant. Ordered a bottle of $39 chard we're not familiar with for the two of us and waiter (only 1 there) had no advice on its taste/quality. Turned out it was a decent wine. Later determined bottle price we paid was almost 4 times retail cost. I realize restaurants need to make a good profit on their liquor sales, but that should be balanced with a customer's perception of value. We all know costs have gone up quite a bit in the restaurant sector making it a challenging sector, but Sierra Kitchen seems a bit pricey for their food, liquor, especially in light of their serving sizes...for food ,for example, the scallop appetizer was $19 for only 2 scallops.... Just one last comment...when we go out to restaurants and pay a premium for our food and service, our expectations are justifiably a bit higher...it was surprising that SK uses some form of plastic dishes and plastic glasses... something you normally find at Denny's....it would have been nice to have real plates and glass glasses...fortunately, the wine glasses were real glass. Was also surprised and disappointed, before I posted this review, when I read some of the owner's responses to reviews like mine...responding negatively to what appeared to be reasonable customer reviews... I can only imagine the review response I'm going to get... We have a small business and customers are a priority...if we get a bad review, we bend over backwards to make it right! We will maybe return to SK at some point in the future, but only when we see their reviews and value/pricing improve...I'm hoping this will happen...I really liked to go there...

Tapas selection was great! We all really enjoyed the tapas including bacon wrapped dates, beet salad, crab cakes, mac & cheese and prime filet tips. Service was also great and after dinner, the chef came out to make sure we all enjoyed our meal. Atmosphere also comfortable. We have gone a few times and always a great experience.
