Modern Cafe Culture in the heart of Chester.
Whether it's a coffee in the morning, a light lunch on the terrace with a glass of wine from our eclectic selection, to an intimate dinner for two in the restaurant, we aim to offer something for everyone at every time of the day.
If you're not hungry join us for drinks in our bar area where you can sample some of our delicious in house cocktails.

The best small plates restaurant we've been to. Vegan dishes were outstanding and the service was first class from the front door greeting to the servers. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone visiting Chester.

We had a fantastic evening at Shrub. The food was really tasty, they were very helpful with catering for gluten free and the service was excellent. We had booked a table and were glad we did as it was very busy. There was a great atmosphere and we would definitely return.

Second visit to Shrub, highly recommend. Staff friendly and welcoming. Nice decor, comfortable surroundings. Comprehensive drinks list. Most importantly delicious food. Group of four we had seven small plates and one main between us. Stand out dishes were the artichoke wings and lamb fries. Planning on trying the Sunday lunch next visit.

Second time we've been to Shrub, and it was equally as good. We took our family, one of which is a vegetarian coeliac. It was the first time she has been able to eat and relax knowing all the food was suitable for her with no worry of cross contamination. We will be back 😍.
