Modern Cafe Culture in the heart of Chester.
Whether it's a coffee in the morning, a light lunch on the terrace with a glass of wine from our eclectic selection, to an intimate dinner for two in the restaurant, we aim to offer something for everyone at every time of the day.

                                                                  We had a lovely lunch and cocktails at Shrub. The service was excellent, attentive but not pushy, the food was delicious (as always) and the staff were very friendly. Very nice relaxed atmosphere.

                                                                  This was my first time dining at Shrub and it certainly won’t be my last. Excellent location, service amazing and so very helpful- lovely staff, food excellent- love the choices available - all superbly prepared. Thank you Shrub - I will spread the word of this amazing plant food restaurant and I look forward to my next visit very soon.

                                                                  The most delicious flavours with generous sized small plates. Service was relaxed and staff knowledgeable about all dishes. An amazing lazy lunch and will definitely recommend and return.

                                                                  We came to shrub for dessert and it was superb. I’m not vegan, and I was blown away by how delicious the ice cream was and the posset. I’ve been before for a main meal and have enjoyed it every time. The outdoor area is beautiful with heaters and a stunning view over Chester. Well worth a visit and very friendly staff.

                                                                  The portion sizes were spot on. We had a table for 4 and each ordered 2 dishes each and to breads a there was plenty. My own minor criticism would be that the breads should have been served warm with the dips

                                                                  A fantastic night at Shrub. My first visit, and we’ll definitely be going back. We had glorious cocktails to start - my Mambo Italiano was voted the best in our group - then excellent food and wine. The flavours were superb, and all of us enjoyed it - including the non-vegans who were with us. Staff were friendly and lovely. Thanks Shrub! Loved it all.
