   Good choice of food and excellent value, the young man that served us was brilliant, will definitely come again with other friends and I fully recommend the Ship in distress for a casual meal and drink.

   We had a lovely family get together, staff were all very helpful, friendly greeting and excellent service. Food tasty as always 😁

   Lovely Valentines evening, nice touches on the table with confetti hearts, red candle and chocolates. We had starters & main which included a bottle of wine all within the price. Great service and it was just perfect.

   Please leave the side mural. I was expecting to see the front with a mural. Inside it is very inviting with a lot of space. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The menus were impressive with great food selections. Thank you to all.

   hi Steve i'm glad to hear you enjoyed your visit with us and was nice to meet you and hope to see you again soon. regarding the mural it wasn't me who removed it was already gone when i started 4 years ago i guess as we are no longer a fish restaurant it seemed not necessary to have anymore.

   We go there on a regular basis. Would not do so if it was not a good place to go.

   This was the second year having Christmas lunch at The Ship in Distress. The food was excellent, tasty , nicely presented and hot. Service by staff was very friendly and no shortage of smiles. Excellent Christmas Day lunch and will be booking for 2025.

   Last minute decision to go out for dinner and decided to give The Ship in Distress a try and didn't regret it. Superb service, friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious and well presented. Overall very good and will be back. Many thanks.

   Family birthday get together. Everyone was impressed by the great value for money. Good selection of courses and the drinks were served quickly throughout the meal. Friendly staff and clean throughout. Very nice pub with plenty of charm. Absolutely no complaints about this visit, so thank you for a lovely time 😊.

   As a coeliac I was told the meal I had was gluten free, gammon, eggs, chips and onion rings. I do not believe that the onion rings were gluten free and I was instantly glutened within an hour.

    A very nice Sunday roast and the service was excellent as was the service for our dog who enjoyed it too.
