   The worst “service” if you can call it that. Our server literally would walk by looking the other direction. Waited an hour after ordering, still waiting for 50% of our meal but people who ordered 30 minutes or more after had all items. Sad part, the food that we received was top tier. By far the best sushi I’ve had in the 360. It’s sad the company rather not have a manager present (did not see one the 90 minutes we were there) and left our server ( Ivor J) who obviously wasn’t ever trained nor did he care about hospitality. Ivor would walk by us looking the other way and I had to genuinely yell to get his attention the third time he walked by our table. Even the table behind us was cracking up. It’s rare to leave a restaurant hungry but we weren’t the only ones. Another group a table away left because they didn’t expect to spend 2 hours at dinner.

   While the sushi was good (I can’t give an accurate accounting because I’m coming off sinusitis), what I wanted to laude was the delicious cocktail (freshest strawberry flavor), the really nice server, and the tasty dessert (pistachio ricotta cake).

   The Sashimi was very good. No fishy odors. However, only one of our two rolls were great. The Toro Hosomaki roll was flavorless and small. The Scallop roll the same. The Geisha Roll had loads of flavor and I would order again. The Saki list was good and enjoyed our pick. Service was excellent. It is a little spendy compared to other sushi restaurants I frequent.

   We are in Vancouver for a week for work snd loved Shinsen so much, we went twice! The menu offers a perfect blend of traditional and unique options. Being from Alaska, we are picky about fish, esp salmon, and the New Zealand king salmon did not did not disappoint. Our fave rolls were the Samurai (yummy hint of chilis) and the Rainbow (so fresh and loved the flying fish row). The hamachi was the best we’ve had. Service was perfect. The atmosphere was elegant yet cozy. Prices were fair for the excellent quality. Highly recommend.

   Some of the finest sushi I have had since leaving NYC. Meticulously prepared and the fresh wasabi was divine! Sushi bar was a very positive and informative - these chefs know their stuff.
