Sharkbait & Swim is an independent seafood centric small plates restaurant based in the heart of Deptford, walking distance from Greenwich! Our restaurant ethos is simple: to serve great quality food and drink in a relaxed and intimate environment. The menu is created with locality, seasonality and sustainability at the forefront and we work closely with our fishmonger to ensure that all of our fish is sustainably sourced where possible from British waters.

Steve (aka, Cockney Chef!) has spent years cooking in award winning seafood restaurants on the south east coast and has worked in multiple Michelin star restaurants across Europe! Inspired by his career and travels around the world, Steve will be bringing a menu full of big punchy flavours to tantalize your taste buds with influence from Asian and European food culture.

    So glad to have discovered this amazing little place! The seafood dishes are so inventive, and really tasty. The portions are surprisingly large, we definitely over-ate! In particular we loved the prawns, green Thai curry dressed oysters, whitebait and halibut collars.

    We have a fantastic lunch yesterday @ Shakbait & Swim and will definitely be back. The pate was a highlight. One of the best things was the service which was attentive & friendly.

    Really delicious food, really lovely staff!!! 100% will be returning here. Never seen a sea bass prepared like that, loved it !

    Great range of fish dishes, well proportioned, variety of seasonings and sauces and arriving at well spaced intervals so that nothing got cold. Personable service and terrific value for money.

    Absolutely lovely, went here last year and was amazing. Went back this year and the food was absolutely amazing. It’s not the most beautiful restaurant but the flavours are something else, will definitely be going back
