I ordered the octopus, swordfish, and local ceviche as appetizers. All had good Mediterranean flavors; but the octopus and swordfish were a bit salty, and the ceviche was quite sour. However, the rather lackluster quality of those were not remotely close to the abysmal entree. I placed the order for the half chicken after the appetizers were delivered to the table, and it took approximately 45mins for it to be brought out. In addition, the chicken itself was unbearably salty. I could only withstand one bite until I ultimately decided to leave.

We had dinner with our 6 year old at Serea while we stayed at the hotel. Food and service were excellent and everyone was very accommodating of our child. Brett took excellent care of us and gave excellent guidance on food and drink selections. We’re looking forward to coming back!

Our waiter was Brett, who was excellent. We wanted to try different flavors so he helped us order several appetizers and a side plus made an excellent wine pairing suggestion. He was attentive but did not hover. Our top pick was the ceviche (halibut)-excellent just the right amount of spice. My second choice was maple roasted Brussels sprouts (sauce was too sweet for my wife but she liked the sprouts). Wife’s second choice was the beet salad-excellent. I really liked the calamari (little too salty). Wife thought it too spicy. Cream Catalan was ho hum.

We were amazed how the Hotel Del Coronado has become more like Disneyland. The restaurant was a welcome escape from the crowds. Food was good, not cheap but service and staff were great
