   The ambiance was great, and the service was impeccable. We actually enjoyed the drinks as well, however we went there for dinner and I must say the food was just not worth it at all. Everything was prepared well but simply devoid of any flavor. I don't think salt exists in that kitchen. I had the Salisbury Steak and my wife had the Salmon. Salmon was far better than my dish but I am confident that my 15 year old could have made either of those dishes better at home.

   Service and drinks were very good, however, entrees left something to be desired. The burgundy chicken was served cold and the ribeye steak was tough. A substantial decline from prior visits.

   We have been twice before but last night from the food to the service (we had a lovely waitress but whatever else was going on in the restaurant she could not help) was really not great. We are patient people but from our basement seating not honored all the way to the food and drinks it was a big disappointment. We brought friends and told them how much we loved this place. Each course had something significant incorrect and we joked we should have gone across the street to Buffalo Wild Wings for better food and service. Please do better, we love this place!

    Scholar really has a lot of character on each floor. It is really unique to the area. Unfortunately, we thought quality of the food was lacking. My $50 ribeye was tough and lacking flavor. My partner’s scallops were really salty and tasted like they were cooked in cough syrup. Service was pretty decent but it certainly wasn’t a great birthday dinner given the $200 price tag.
