   When we arrived the hostess said she would be glad to seat us in exactly 7 minutes the time of our reservation. We asked to sit at a different table closer to the window and were told it was reserved. No one ever came. The restaurant we very empty. Service off. Food pretty good. Will not return

   Fabulous fabulous fabulous We go here 4-6x a year and it is consistently wonderful. We are pretty tough critics and been to a number of restaurants all over Philly .. but we keep coming back here — food is flavorful and service excellent.. and great park views as well. Really nice ambiance. All around better than most restaurants in Philly.

   Scarpetta was surprisingly empty on a beautiful Friday evening. The food, scallops, filet, and squid ink pasta were great. The hamachi crudo was exceptional, as was the service

   The space while overlooking Rittenhouse Square feels cold and is uninteresting. No ambience, no music . Feels like a hotel restaurant with what you expect average hotel food. Disappointing.

   Went to Scarpetta for our 10 year anniversary. Pros: The food was fantastic. The burrata appetizer was super fresh and delicious. The squid ink lobster pasta was very flavorful and a decent sized portion. The filet was cooked perfectly and came with potatoes / greens that were also very good. The service was on par for such restaurant. Attentive but didn’t rush anything and were very nice. Cons: Atmosphere - it was a bit empty for a Friday night and there was no background music playing throughout the dining room so the combination of the two being so quiet made it a very dull dining experience. Price / value: I thought drinks were definitely on the pricier side but food prices were appropriate. Lastly, this wouldn’t apply to everyone but I did mention when making the reservation that it was our anniversary and requested a window seat, which we did get (although at night time Rittenhouse Square Park isn’t lit up much so the view was lackluster. At an earlier time of day or during the summer with daylight it would’ve provided a better view). Additionally, they brought out what I thought to be complimentary glasses of champagne to celebrate the anniversary, which was a nice touch but when we received the bill, there was a charge for this totaling $14. Not a deal breaker since it was a special occasion and sure I could’ve said something but I don’t think that is the way to go about making your customers feel special and then surprise, you just paid for that. Felt cheap for a higher end restaurant. Overall the quality and taste of the food outweighed the negatives and we did still enjoy the evening. I’d rate Scarpetta at a 6.5 out of 10

    Great dinner - one of the best arugula salads ever; bread sensational and the drinks were on par with the best I have had in a while. service and attention was perfection.
