Had the halibut. It was delicious. The cocktail cart and dessert room were a nice surprise. Definitely going back. Our server Grace was amazing. If I have business dinners or a night out with wife and friends I am going to request her. She made the experience a great one.

I never leave reviews but after my experience here, I think a review is warranted. We arrived at 1130 for their Sunday brunch. First impression was the place is very pretty and the ambience is great. Loved the live music. Drinks were amazing. We ordered some apps and our food around the same time. Our apps came out relatively quickly. I was with my friend and we were just talking while snacking on the food. We ordered Calamari, short rib braised flat bread, truffle croque madame, and porchetta sunrise. A lady whom was at the hostess station came over and asked us if we didn't like the calamari because it wasn't gone. We politely said it was good and we were just busy chatting. Kind of weird. An hour and 30m goes by and our food still hadn't come out. Our drinks were gone. And we politely asked the lady who had come up to see us before if we could just cancel our food and speak to a manager. We had watched multiple people who arrived after us get their food and leave. Not 10m later our food comes out, lukewarm, the bread was hard on the bottom. Our eggs were cold, and burnt around the edges. we were there for a total of two hours and didn't receive our food until the last 10m of being there. And the manager never came over to speak to us I feel like this place has huge potential to be amazing. But not really sure what the breakdown was. There were only about 10 tables occupied when we went

The food was good but really bland. My over experience was good. I really like the place. The service was great. The service staff was amazing. I was shocked by the lack of flavor in the food.

Managing a party of 10 is no small feat but our server handled us beautifully! We had a lovely evening celebrating and will come back soon!

Being a server in fine dining makes writing this review a struggle. First, I would never sit a couple next to two tables with children if the entire restaurant was empty. A busy Saturday night and the restaurant is packed? Sure, but this was a quiet Wednesday and an almost empty dining room. When I asked to be moved away from the children I was looked at like I had three heads! My husband didn’t realize he ordered a hard cider instead of a beer, we caught the server in time, but now that’s strike two for the “annoying couple” Ordered the onion soup to share, had the consistency of gravy, not broth. It was very sweet, not hot and the croutons were like stale bricks. My husband ate it, I decided to save my appetite. Ordered lobster mussels to share. It simply wasn’t my cup of tea. Again, a very thick gravy consistency with an over powering stinky seafood smell. Husband ate it..at this point I ask to see the menu again because we were sharing the short rib entree and knew it wasn’t going to be enough food. The server is clearly off put by my “picky” behavior, and to be honest I was starting to feel uncomfortable. I ask to have the chicken confit entree sent out with the ribs . Entrees arrive, there is literally no chicken in my dish. It was a bowl of gnocchi and had almost no flavor. My husband’s ribs were just ok, definitely not worth the price. I was mortified to ask the server where the chicken was. I was informed it was pulled chicken, but again, after searching desperately for something that resembled chicken we found none. The server took the dish away in frustration. When she finally returned I explained I didn’t want it. I would have told her that had she asked me how to resolve the issues before storming off. The manager was lovely and offered us dessert but at that point I was so uncomfortable I just wanted to leave. I had several snooping employees come to check out the “Karen” at the table. Hands down my worst dining experience ever.

We went for restaurant week and were not disappointed. The ambiance was nice as always and the acoustic guitar player (you are almost guaranteed to have live music any time you go to Scarlet Knife) added a nice vibe to the lively room. My Colonie Chamber of Commerce restaurant week special consisted of a dry rub scallop appetizer, a herb roasted hanger steak with a blue cheese flavor mashed potato, asparagus and a flavorful layered slice of cake for dessert. As always everything was excellent and the special wine pairings went perfect with the dish. I am looking forward to going back again soon.

We had a gift certificate - can’t say I would have chosen here on my own, not really my vibe. One meal (the ribeye) was cooked well and one meal (the short ribs) didn’t have a ton of flavor, was quite dry and the first one that came out had a hair in it. They did quickly refire a new one but I would have expected a comped round of drinks or dessert, or at the very least a manager check in. The old fashioned we ordered had so much small ice it was immediately watered down. It’s unlikely we’d return as the food/drinks weren’t worth the high cost.
